The 2009 Tour du Grand Montréal was the 8th and last edition of the Tour du Grand Montréal, a women's cycling stage race in Canada. It was rated by the UCI as a category 2.1 race and was held between 1 and 4 June 2009. Kirsten Wild
Kirsten Carlijn Wild (born 15 October 1982) is a Dutch former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2021, for eight professional teams. During her track cycling career, Wild rode at the Summer Olympic Games in 2012, 2016 and 2020, winning a bronze medal at the latter Games, in the omnium. She won eighteen medals including nine golds at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, and eighteen medals including eight golds at the UEC European Track Championships. Wild also took over 100 victories in road racing, and won two medals at the UCI Road World Championships. Lotto Ladies is a women's professional road bicycle racing, cycling cycling team, team based in Belgium, which competes in elite road bicycle racing and track cycling events, such as the UCI Women's World Tour. Hanka Kupfernagel (born 19 March 1974 in Gera, Bezirk Gera) is a retired German professional cycle racer. During most of her career her primary focus was cyclo-cross racing, however, she has also won major road, track and mountain bike races. She has won seven consecutive medals at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships, Women, UCI Women's Cyclo-cross World Championships, including three gold medals in 2000, 2001 and 2005; two silver medals in 2002 and 2003; and the bronze medal in 2004. Her major career victories also include a gold medal in the individual time trial competition at the 2007 UCI Road World Championships in Stuttgart and a silver medal in the road race at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Mont-Saint-Hilaire () is a suburb of Montreal on the South Shore of southeastern Quebec, Canada, on the Richelieu River in the Regional County Municipality of La Vallée-du-Richelieu. Brooke Miller (born March 21, 1976) is an American former professional road racing cyclist and U.S. national team member. In 2008, she won both the women's criterium and road race national championships. Biography Brooke Miller was born in Huntington Beach, California. She did not start to cycle until she was in graduate school, having been an elite volleyball player at the University of California at Berkeley. It was not until Miller was invited to attend the USA Cycling Women’s Talent ID camp in 2005, that she learned that women peak older than men, and she then started to take cycling seriously. Miller became a member of the US National Team in 2007, and competed in Europe, coming second in the first stage and winning the third stage of the Tour de l'Ardèche in France. A criterium, or crit, is a bike race consisting of several laps around a closed circuit, the length of each lap or circuit ranging from about 400 m to 10,000 m. Overview Race length can be determined by a number of laps or total time, in which case the number of remaining laps is calculated as the race progresses. Generally the event's duration (commonly one hour) is shorter than that of a traditional road race — which can last many hours, sometimes over the course of several days or even weeks, as in a Grand Tour.
