2009 ICC World Twenty20
The 2009 ICC World Twenty20 was the second edition of the Men's T20 World Cup, formerly known as the ICC World Twenty20 that took place in England in June 2009. As before, the tournament featured 12 male teams – nine of the ten Test cricket, Test-playing nations and three associate nations, which earned their places through a 2008 World Twenty20 Qualifier, qualification tournament. International Cricket Council, ICC Full member Zimbabwe national cricket team, Zimbabwe were expelled from the tournament due to political reasons. Matches were played at three English grounds – Lord's and The Oval in London, and Trent Bridge in Nottingham. International Cricket Council
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global Sports governing body, governing body of cricket. It was founded as the Imperial Cricket Conference in 1909 by representatives from Australia, England, and South Africa. In 1965, the body was renamed as the International Cricket Conference and adopted its current name in 1987. ICC has its headquarters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Pakistan National Cricket Team
The Pakistan men's national cricket team represents Pakistan in international cricket. It is controlled by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the governing body for cricket in Pakistan, which is a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Pakistan compete in cricket tours and tournaments sanctioned by the PCB and other regional or international cricket bodies in Test cricket, Test, One Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 International (T20) formats. ICC Europe is the International Cricket Council region responsible for administration of the sport of cricket in Europe. It is a subordinate body to the International Cricket Council (ICC). The organisation currently has 34 members, located in Europe, and is responsible for the development, promotion and administration of the game in the continent. The earlier body European Cricket Council used to manage cricket administration for Europe until it was brought under the auspices of the ICC Development programme as ICC Europe in 2008, and later dissolved as an independent body. ICC East Asia-Pacific is the International Cricket Council region responsible for administration of the sport of Cricket in East Asia and the Pacific area; Oceania. The ICC EAP was founded in 1996. It is subordinate to the International Cricket Council, and currently has 12 member associations. The region was founded in 1996 with a regional office established in 1999. The area covered by the region includes two Test cricket, Test nations and ten ICC associate members. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is a cricket organization which was established in 1983, to promote and develop the sport of Cricket in Asia. Subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently consists of 27 member associations. Mohsin Naqvi is the current president of Asian Cricket Council. The ICC Americas is the International Cricket Council region responsible for administration of the sport of cricket in the Americas. It is a subordinate body to the International Cricket Council (ICC). The organisation currently has 17 members, located in Northern America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, and is responsible for the development, promotion and administration of the game in the above regions. ICC Americas oversees the regional qualification tournaments for the Cricket World Cup, the Women's Cricket World Cup, the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, and the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The Africa Cricket Association (ACA) is an international body which coordinates the development of Cricket in Africa. The ACA was founded in 1997. It is subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently has 23 member associations. The role of the ACA includes promoting the development of cricket in Africa and organising some regional tournaments. Old Trafford is a cricket ground in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. It opened in 1857 as the home of Manchester Cricket Club and has been the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club since 1864. ICC Women's T20 World Cup
The Women's T20 World Cup is the biennial international championship for women's Twenty20 International cricket. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, the International Cricket Council, with the first edition having been held in England in 2009. For the first three tournaments, there were eight participants, but this number has been raised to ten from the 2014 edition onwards. In July 2022, the ICC announced that the Bangladesh would host the 2024 tournament and that England would host the 2026 tournament. The number of teams in at the 2026 tournament is also set to increase to twelve. At each tournament, a set number of teams qualify automatically, with the remaining teams determined by the Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier. Surrey County Cricket Club (Surrey CCC) is a first-class club in county cricket, one of eighteen in the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales.
