2008–09 State League Twenty20
The 2008–09 State League Twenty20 was the second season of the women's Twenty20 cricket competition played in New Zealand. It ran from December 2008 to January 2009, with 6 provincial teams taking part. Wellington Blaze beat Canterbury Magicians in the final to win the tournament, their first Twenty20 title. The tournament ran alongside the 2008–09 State League. Competition format Teams played in a round-robin in a group of six, playing 5 matches overall. Amy Ella Satterthwaite (born 7 October 1986) is a New Zealand former cricketer who played as an all-rounder, batting left-handed and bowling either right-arm medium or off break. Suzie Bates
Suzannah Wilson Bates (born 16 September 1987) is a New Zealand cricketer and former captain of national women cricket team. Born in Dunedin, she plays domestic cricket for the Otago Sparks, as well as for the White Ferns. She currently holds the highest score and highest batting average in the New Zealand Women's Twenty20 cricket team. She won the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year in 2013. Sophie Frances Monique Devine (born 1 September 1989) is a New Zealand sportswoman, who has represented New Zealand in both cricket for the New Zealand national women's cricket team (''White Ferns''), and in field hockey as a member of the New Zealand women's national field hockey team (''Black Sticks Women''). David Murray Quested (16 April 1946 – 6 August 2024) was a New Zealand cricket umpire. He stood in five Test matches between 1995 and 2001 and 31 One Day International games between 1992 and 2002. Basin Reserve
The Basin Reserve, also known as the Cello Basin Reserve for sponsorship reasons, and commonly referred to as the Basin, is a cricket ground in Wellington, New Zealand. It is used for Test cricket, Test matches, and is the main home ground of the Wellington Firebirds First-class cricket, first-class team.
