Scottish Football League Second Division
The Scottish Football League Second Division was the third tier of the Scottish football league system between 1975 and 2013. History The Second Division was created in 1975, as part of a wider reconstruction of the Scottish Football League (SFL). Prior to 1975, the SFL had been split into two divisions (Division One and Division Two). The effect of the reconstruction was to split these two divisions into three, with the top flight named the Scottish Football League Premier Division, Premier Division, second tier the Scottish Football League First Division, First Division, and a new third tier was created known as the Second Division. A fourth tier, known as the Scottish Football League Third Division, Third Division, was created in 1994. Scottish Football League Third Division
The Scottish Football League Third Division was the fourth tier of the Scottish football league system between 1994 and 2013. History The Scottish football league system had operated with three divisions in the Scottish Football League (SFL) from 1975. In 1994, as part of reconstruction to allow the admission of Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County to the league, the SFL was recalibrated to give four divisions of 10 teams. The fourth tier was named the Third Division. In 1998, the Premier Division (top flight) clubs broke away to form the Scottish Premier League (SPL). The Third Division continued as the fourth tier of the league system, but was now the third tier of the SFL. In 2013, the SFL and SPL merged to form the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL). Somerset Park
Somerset Park is a football stadium located in Ayr, South Ayrshire, Scotland. It has been the home of Scottish Championship team Ayr United since the club was founded in 1910. Prior to that, it was the home ground of Ayr, who merged with Ayr Parkhouse to form Ayr United. The 10,185 capacity stadium was designed by renowned football stadium architect Archibald Leitch. After an impressive season in 2017–2018 by Ayr United, debate and discussion began regarding the possibility of Ayr United being promoted to the Scottish Premiership and whether Somerset Park would be eligible for Premiership matches. Stark's Park
Stark's Park is a football stadium in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. It is the home ground of Raith Rovers, who have played there since 1891. The ground has an all-seated capacity of . History Raith started using the ground in 1891 and it seats . It is located in Kirkcaldy, Fife. The park can clearly be seen from the railway line on the route between Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Martin Bavidge (born 30 April 1980) is a Scottish retired professional footballer. He played as a forward. Bavidge started his career with Forres Mechanics in the Highland Football League before going on to play for Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Forfar Athletic, Peterhead and Inverurie Loco Works. Graeme Sharp
Graeme Marshall Sharp (born 16 October 1960) is a Scottish former professional football player and manager. Sharp played as a forward for Dumbarton, Everton, Oldham Athletic and Bangor City. He enjoyed great success with Everton, helping them win English league championships in 1985 and 1987, the FA Cup in 1984 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1985. He made 12 international appearances for Scotland, and was selected in their 1986 World Cup squad. Sharp moved to Oldham Athletic in 1991, and helped the newly-promoted club stay in the top flight for three seasons. He was appointed player-manager of Oldham in November 1994, but he left the club in March 1997 with them on the verge of being relegated to the third tier. Graham Weir (born 10 July 1984) is a Scottish former footballer. Career Weir started his career at Heart of Midlothian, making his senior debut in 2001 in a 3–2 loss against Aberdeen, where he was sent off in the final minute for kicking Robbie Winters. During his Hearts career his goals-to-games ratio was unremarkable, although he is noted for scoring two goals in the last minute of added time against Hibernian in the ''Edinburgh Derby'' of 2 January 2003. Hibernian scored two late goals in 89th and 92nd minutes to go 4–2 up. Martin Grehan
Martin Grehan (born 9 October 1984) is a Scottish footballer who played as a forward before becoming professional. Prolific as an amateur and winning the 5 a-side Scottish Cup 2003 in Dunfermline and 2004 edition in Hamilton with Inter Silky Soccer. Career Grehan was born in Glenrothes. After a spell in the East Fife Youth system, Grehan spent some time in the Amateurs with Fife side Kettle United. During his time at United he played with the Scotland Amateur Team. David McKenna (footballer)
David Leslie McKenna (born 19 September 1986) is a Scottish footballer, who plays for Renfrew FC as a striker. He has also played for St Mirren, Cowdenbeath, Stirling Albion, Brechin City, Stranraer, East Stirlingshire and Annan Athletic. Career Born in Paisley, McKenna started his career at St Mirren. On 7 January 2006 he joined Cowdenbeath on loan, scoring 11 goals in a half season spell which saw him play a large role in the Blue Brazil winning their first league title in 67 years. Bryan Prunty
Bryan Prunty (born 12 January 1983) is a Scottish former footballer who is on the backroom staff at Scottish Championship club Airdrieonians. Career Club Prunty began his career with Celtic, but he failed to make a senior appearance. In January 2004, he moved to fellow Scottish Premier League club Aberdeen, making his senior debut in a Scottish Cup replay victory against Dundee on 21 January 2004. His first senior goal came on 27 March 2004 in a 3–1 defeat against Kilmarnock. At the end of the 2003–04 season, Prunty was told by manager Jimmy Calderwood that he could leave the club. 2009–10 Scottish Third Division
The 2009–10 Scottish Football League Third Division (also known as the 2009–10 Irn-Bru Scottish Football League Third Division for sponsorship reasons) was the 16th season in the format of ten teams in the fourth-tier of Scottish football. The season started on 8 August 2009 and ended on 1 May 2010. Livingston F.C. finished top and were promoted alongside Forfar Athletic as play-off winners.
