The 2008–09 Pakistan Premier League was the 5th season of the Pakistan Premier League and the 54th season of Pakistan domestic football. It was held from July 22, 2008 to December 6, 2008 under the auspices of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF). Promotion and relegation Teams promoted from 2007–08 Football Federation League * Pak Elektron * Pakistan Steel Teams relegated from 2008–09 Football Federation League * Pakistan Railways * Wohaib Teams Stadia and locations Format Teams play each other on a home and away basis The winners will represent Pakistan at the 2009 AFC President's Cup. The bottom two teams will be relegated to the Pakistan Football Federation League. Two teams will be promoted to the PPL. The matches will be held at 1:00 and 3:00 pm respectively on home and away basis. Pakistan Premier League
The Pakistan Premier League (PPL; ) is a Pakistani semi-professional league for men's football clubs. The top tier of the Pakistan football league system, the PPL operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the PFFL B Division. The league has remained inactive since the end of the 2014–15 season. The 2018–19 season was held in between after three years of inactivity, however it was reportedly not recognised by FIFA and AFC, as it was completed under a non-FIFA recognised body a month before the termination of the event. The Pakistan Football Federation League B Division (; abbreviated: PFFL) is a Pakistani professional league for men's football departments and clubs which are in the Pakistan football league system, and is the country's second-tier competition. Contested by 18 departments and clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the top-tier Pakistan Premier League. Each season, the two top-finishing teams from the PFFL's club phase and the departmental phase are automatically promoted to the Pakistan Premier League, and the winner of the final between club phase and departmental phase is crowned the PFF League champion. The People's Football Stadium is a football stadium located in Lyari, a neighbourhood in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. The stadium can accommodate 25,000 spectators, and has an upgradable seating capacity of 40,000. Owned by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the stadium serves as one of the home venues for the Pakistan national football team. Afghan Football Club Chaman, or simply AFC Chaman, is a Pakistani professional football club based in Chaman, Balochistan, a border city of Pakistan near Afghanistan.
