2008–09 Mississippi State Bulldogs Basketball Team
The 2008–09 Mississippi State basketball team represented Mississippi State University in the 2008–09 college basketball season. Under head coach Rick Stansbury, the team played their home games at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Mississippi, and was a member of the Southeastern Conference. Previous season The 2007–08 Bulldogs finished the season 23–11 (12–4 in SEC play) and reached the Round of 32 in the NCAA tournament, where they barely lost to eventual runner-up Memphis. Rick Stansbury
Richard Lee Stansbury (born December 23, 1959), is an American college basketball coach who most recently was an assistant coach at the Memphis Tigers men's basketball, University of Memphis. He was the head coach at Western Kentucky Hilltoppers basketball, Western Kentucky from 2016 to 2023 and at Mississippi State Bulldogs men's basketball, Mississippi State from 1998 to 2012. Stansbury completed his tenure at Mississippi State ranked 9th all-time in Southeastern Conference (SEC) wins. Demarquis "Dee" Bost (; born October 12, 1989) is an American-born naturalized Bulgarian professional basketball player for the Al-Rayyan of the Qatari Basketball League. He also represents the Bulgarian national team internationally. He played college basketball for Mississippi State University. Ballard High School (Louisville, Kentucky)
Ballard High School is a high school in the eastern suburbs of Louisville, Kentucky, and is a part of the Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) school district. The school opened in the fall of 1968. The first students were in grades 7- 9, and a grade was added each year as the building was expanded. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. They effectively "run" the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Basketball is a sport with five players on the court for each team at a time. Each player is assigned to different Position (team sports), positions defined by the strategic role they play. Guard, forward and center are the three main position categories. The standard team features two guards, two forwards, and a center.
