2008–09 Lebanese Second Division
The 2009 in association football, 2008–09 Lebanese Second Division was the 75th season of the second-highest level of Football in Lebanon, Soccer in Lebanon. This season once again featured 14 Clubs just like the Lebanese Second Division 2007–08, season before. Overview In the Lebanese Premier League 2007–08, 2007–08 Premier League, both Al-Irshad(finished 11th) and Al-Ahli Sidon (finished last) were relegated. They joined the Lebanese Second Division, Second Division along with Al-Riyadah and Al-Khoyol who were promoted to the Lebanese Second Division, Second Division from the Lebanese Third Division, Third Division in the 2007–08 season. Unlike the previous 3 seasons, no clubs pulled out before the season even started, a bonus for the league. The 2-Group Round-robin tournament, Round-Robin format was once again used in order to determine the 4 clubs to qualify for the promotion play-off group. Al Ahly Sporting Club Nabatieh (), known as Ahly Nabatieh or simply Nabatieh, is a football club based in Nabatieh, Lebanon. It was established in 1968 and competes in the . They were first promoted to the Lebanese Premier League in 2023, and finished runners-up in the Lebanese Federation Cup the same year. They however got relegated back to the Second Division at the end of the season. The club was established in 1986 and competes in the Lebanese Second Division after gaining promotion from the Third Division in 2018.
