Korean Basketball League
The Korean Basketball League () or simply KBL is a professional men's basketball league in South Korea which was established in 1997. The league consists of ten teams and each team plays a total of 54 games (27 home and 27 away) in the regular season. History The Korean Basketball League was established in 1997. Prior to the professional era, domestic basketball was an amateur sport and all teams, whether sponsored by a corporate company or a university, participated in the National Basketball Festival (), a competition sanctioned by the Korea Basketball Association. Early teams were sponsored by major corporate companies or universities. Changwon LG Sakers
Changwon LG Sakers are a professional basketball team located in the city of Changwon in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. They play in the Korean Basketball League (KBL), and their home arena is Changwon Gymnasium which has a capacity for approximately 6,000 people. The team's main sponsor is LG Electronics. The team was established in 1997 under the name Gyeongnam LG Sakers. The name was changed to the Changwon LG Sakers after the first season. In 2024–25, the Sakers won their first KBL championship following a 4–3 win over the Seoul SK Knights in the finals. The Wonju DB Promy is a professional basketball club in the Korean Basketball League (KBL), located in the city of Wonju. From its founding in 1996, the team has always been based in its home province of Gangwon.
