The 2008–09 season was the 98th season in Hajduk Split's history and their eighteenth in the Prva HNL. Their 5th-place finish in the 2007–08 season meant it was their 18th successive season playing in the Prva HNL. HNK Hajduk Split
Hrvatski Nogometni klub Hajduk Split, commonly referred to as Hajduk Split (), is a Croatian professional Association football, football Football team, club based in Split, Croatia, Split, that competes in the Croatian First Football League, Croatian First League, the top tier in Croatian football. Since 1979, the club's home ground has been the 33,987-seater Stadion Poljud. The team's traditional home colours are white shirts with blue shorts and blue socks. The idea to form a football club was started by a group of Split students who were studying in Prague. After observing a game between SK Slavia Prague, Slavia and AC Sparta Prague, Sparta Prague, the group gathered at the U Fleků tavern and talked of creating a football club at home. Jurica Buljat
Jurica Buljat (born 19 September 1986) is a Croatian former professional footballer who played as a defender. Club career On 20 June 2011, Buljat signed a three-year contract with Israeli defending champion Maccabi Haifa. Buljat made his debut on 2011–12 UEFA Champions League second qualifying round, 13 July 2011, against Borac Banja Luka. He was released from the Israeli club after one year. Buljat signed for Ukrainian side FC Metalist Kharkiv in February, 2015. At Metalist, Buljat made 11 appearances. He was released at the end of the season. On 13 January 2017, Buljat signed for Uzbekistani club Pakhtakor Tashkent for the 2017 season after having featured 25 times for Bunyodkor of the same country. On 20 July 2017, he moved to FC BATE Borisov of Belarus. On 14 March 2018, Buljat signed a short-term contract with Bulgarian First League side Lokomotiv Plovdiv. Mirko Oremuš
Mirko Oremuš (born 6 September 1988) is a Croatian professional footballer. Club career Oremuš joined the Hajduk Split academy in 2003, joining from Val Kaštel Stari. A youth national team player, he debuted in the Hajduk first team by scoring against Slaven Belupo, coming in from the bench for the last 14 minutes of the game. He was, however, deemed surplus by the manager and made no further appearances that autumn. This prompted him to rescind his contract with the club and move to third-tier club Novalja. After a very good spring there, he was called back to Hajduk, where he remained for the next three seasons. Originally considered a forward when he entered the first team, he was moved permanently to the right wing, sometimes even appearing on right back when the club lacked other options. Ivan Strinić
Ivan Strinić (; born 17 July 1987) is a Croatian former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football)#Full-back, left-back. Strinić spent his professional career playing in a number of clubs from Croatian, Ukrainian and Italian top flight, including Hajduk Split, Napoli FC, Napoli and Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. Mladen Bartolović
Mladen Bartolović (born 10 April 1977) is a Bosnian professional football coach and former player. Club career Born in Zavidovići, Bartolović played basketball until the age of 16. However, as basketball came to a standstill during the Bosnian war, he turned to football. He began his professional career in 1996 at Segesta Sisak and moved to Croatian Football League club Cibalia Vinkonci two years later. In the 2000–01 season, he went to German club 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 2. Bundesliga for a season-long loan and scored six goals in 33 appearances for the club. He then returned to Cibalia. Drago Gabrić
Drago Gabrić (born 27 September 1986) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Croatian side Zagora Unešić. He also plays futsal. He is a versatile player, able to play on both sides of the field. His father, Tonči, was a former Hajduk Split and Rijeka player, and a Croatian international goalkeeper. Club career Hajduk Split Gabrić made his 1. HNL debut on 16 September 2006 in a home match against Varteks, replacing double goalscorer Josip Balatinac in the 80th minute. Marin Tomasov
Marin Tomasov (born 31 August 1987) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a winger or an attacking midfielder for Kazakhstan Premier League club Astana. Club career Coming from the village of Dobropoljana, on the island of Pašman, Tomasov entered the youth ranks of NK Sveti Mihovil, on the neighboring island of Ugljan, which represents both islands. Some years after, Tomasov was brought up through the NK Zadar youth academy and in 2006 he signed a professional contract with the senior team and was assigned the number 14 jersey. In the three seasons he spent at the club, spanning from 2006 to 2009, he made 72 appearances scoring 12 goals. Ante Vukušić
Ante Vukušić (; born 4 June 1991) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Croatian Football League club Croatia Zmijavci. Club career Vukušić started his career playing at youth level for his hometown club Junak Sinj. He joined Hajduk Split in 2007, and during his time at their youth academy was regarded as one of the most promising players. Hajduk Split In January 2009, he signed a professional -year contract with Hajduk keeping him at the club until summer 2014.
