Esteghlal Tehran FC
Esteghlal Football Club (استقلال), commonly known as Esteghlal (meaning 'The Independence'), is the oldest Iranian professional football club based in Tehran that competes in the Persian Gulf Pro League. The club was founded in 1945 as 'The Cyclists' ( , Dočarxe-Savârân) and was known as Tâj (تاج; meaning 'The Crown') between 1949 and 1979. The club is part of the multisport club Esteghlal Athletic and Cultural Company of Iran. They were the first team to reach 1,000 points in the Persian Gulf Pro League. After the 1979 revolution, the club's women's team was dissolved and the progress of women's football in Iran was tied to politics. Since the 1973–74 season, Esteghlal has played its home games at the Azadi, which has a seating capacity of 78,116, though it can hold more people during important matches. Farhad Majidi
Farhad Majidi (; born 3 June 1976) is an Iranian football coach and former player who most recently managed Al Bataeh Club. He mostly played as attacking midfielder for Esteghlal when he was a football player. He scored 2 important goal for AlAin at 2002–03 AFC Champions League Club career Having played for Esteghlal Tehran for several seasons, Majidi's performance attracted Rapid Vienna to recruit him for one season. However, the offer for a permanent transfer to Austria was not accepted by the Austrians, and they released Majidi who joined Al-Wasl in the UAE. In the UAE League and in combination with his compatriot Alireza Vahedi Nikbakht, Majidi scored a handful of goals and topped the league chart with Al Wasl. Hadi Shakouri
Hadi Shakouri (; born 2 May 1982) is an Iranian football coach and a former defender. He is an assistant manager with Esteghlal. Club career Shakouri, a product of the Pas Tehran youth academy played for the PAS Tehran first team since 2004. He won the Iran's Premier Football League With PAS Tehran F.C. in the season 2003/04 and played for PAS in AFC Champions League. On April 22, 2007, Shakouri signed for Qatari club Al-Arabi in a one-year deal. Hossein Kazemi (, born October 3, 1979, in Tehran, Iran) is retired Iranian football player who last played for Aluminium in Azadegan League. He has also featured in an episode of a TV series in Iran, with former Esteghlal team-mate, Ali Ansarian. Mehdi Amirabadi (, born 22 February 1979) is a retired Iranian footballer who usually played as a full back. Early years Amirabadi was born in Tehranpars, Tehran, Iran. Club career He joined Saipa in 1998. He joined Esteghlal F.C. in 2004. Since joining the club, he has again and again proven himself at the club scoring many vital goals as well as saving many. Vahid Talebloo (; born 26 May 1982 in Tehran, Iran) is a retired Iranian Goalkeeper (association football), football goalkeeper. Club career He began receiving media attention when he was able to save Ali Daei's spot kick in an Iran's Premier League football, IPL match at the beginning of the IPL 2005/06, 2005/2006 season. Ever since then he has become the main goalkeeper for Esteghlal and was one of the keys to Esteghlal Tehran FC winning the IPL championship in the 05/06 season.
