The 2008–09 in English football, 2008–09 season was the 67th and final season of competitive association football in the Football League played by Chester City F.C., Chester City, an English club based in Chester, Cheshire. Also, it was the fifth season spent in the Football League Two, after the promotion from the Football Conference in 2004. Alongside competing in the Football League the club also participated in the FA Cup, the Football League Cup and the Football League Trophy. Season summary In 2007–08, Chester finished the season in 22nd place, only one spot above the relegation zone, on just 47 points from the 46 matches. Chester City F
Chester is a cathedral city in Cheshire, England, on the River Dee, Wales, River Dee, close to the England–Wales border. Kevin Roberts (footballer, Born 1989)
Kevin Roberts (born 17 August 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for National League North club Chester. Early life Roberts was born in Liverpool, Merseyside. Career Chester City Roberts started his career in Chester City's youth system in 2003, signing a professional contract in January 2007. His first involvement in the first team came as an unused substitute in a 2–0 away defeat to Lincoln City on 5 May 2007. He made his first-team debut as a substitute against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup first round tie on 14 August 2007 at home. After the match ended goalless, Roberts stepped up to take a penalty in the shoot-out but saw his effort saved as Chester went out 4–2 on penalties. Paul Linwood
Paul Anthony Linwood (born 24 October 1983) is an English former professional footballer who played as a central defender. He has previously played professionally in the Football League for Tranmere Rovers, Wrexham, Chester City and Grimsby Town and in the Cymru Premier for Connah's Quay Nomads. He also played at Non-league level for Fleetwood Town, Chester, Salford City, Ramsbottom United and Trafford. Kevin Ellison (born 23 February 1979) is an English former professional footballer who plays as a forward for Northern Premier League Division One West club Vauxhall Motors. The New York Stadium, currently known as the AESSEAL New York Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a association football, football stadium in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. Opened in July 2012, it is the home ground of Rotherham United F.C., Rotherham United Football Club, with a capacity of 12,021. Historically the land that the stadium is situated on was called New York and is referenced in many maps up to around the 1980s, although it is said that the name is inspired by the Guest and Chrimes company which previously occupied the site for nearly 150 years. Dagenham () is a town in East London, England, within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Dagenham is centred east of Charing Cross. It was historically a rural parish in the Becontree Hundred of Essex, stretching from Hainault Forest in the north to the River Thames in the south.
