2008–09 Blackpool F.C. Season
The 2008–09 season was Blackpool F.C.'s 101st season (98th consecutive) in the Football League. It was also their second consecutive season in the Championship, the second tier of English football. They finished sixteenth. D. J. Campbell, on loan from Leicester City, was the club's top scorer, with nine goals overall. Simon Grayson resigned as manager on 23 December, to become the new manager of Leeds United. His assistant, Tony Parkes, took over as caretaker manager (his seventh such appointment), until the end of the season. Blackpool F
Blackpool is a seaside town in Lancashire, England. It is located on the Irish Sea coast of the Fylde peninsula, approximately north of Liverpool and west of Preston, Lancashire, Preston. It is the main settlement in the Borough of Blackpool, borough of the same name. Blackpool was originally a small hamlet; it began to grow in the mid-eighteenth century, when sea bathing for health purposes became fashionable. Blackpool's beach was suitable for this activity, and by 1781 several hotels had been built. Ian Ross Evatt (born 19 November 1981) is an English professional football manager and former player who was most recently the manager of Bolton Wanderers. Evatt began his career as a central midfielder, but was later converted to a central defender. Stephen Daniel Crainey (born 22 June 1981) is a Scottish former professional footballer whose most recent job was as assistant manager for Bolton Wanderers. A left back, he made 319 appearances in the Premier League and Football League, including 214 for Blackpool.
