2007–08 Omani League
The 2007–08 Omani League was the 32nd edition of Oman's top football league. It began on 7 November 2007 and finished on 9 May 2008. Al-Nahda Club were the defending champions, having won the 2006–07 Omani League season. Al-Oruba SC won 4-2 away in their final league match against Oman Club and emerged as the champions of the 2007–08 Omani League with a total of 45 points. Teams This season the league had 12 teams. Mjees SC and Al-Salam SC were relegated to the Second Division League after finishing in the relegation zone in the 2006-07 season. The two relegated teams were replaced by Second Division League teams Oman Club and Al-Wahda SC. Omani League
The Oman Professional League (; known as the ''Omantel Professional League'' for sponsorship reasons), previously known as the Omantel Elite League, is the top division of the Oman Football Association, and was officially created in 1976. Currently, the most successful team in the league is Dhofar S.C.S.C., Dhofar with 12 titles to their name. Evolution to a professional league In 2010, during the annual draw for the Sultan Qaboos Cup, Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sultan of Oman, granted the Oman Football Association, OFA an annual 2.6 million Omani Rial, rial (approximately 6.7 million US Dollars, dollars) till the year 2015 to further boost the development of the league. The move was made to nurture Oman's football youth, and create higher hopes of Oman qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Bahla
Bahla () is a town, located 40 km away from Nizwa, and about 200 km from Oman's capital Muscat which lies in the Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman. It is notable as the home of one of the oldest fortresses in the country, the 13th-century Bahla Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sur, Oman
Sur () is the capital city of Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, and the former capital of Ash Sharqiyah Region in northeastern Oman, on the coast of the Gulf of Oman. Al-Saada Sports Complex
Al-Sa'ada Stadium (), which is part of Al-Sa'ada Sports Complex (), is a government-owned multi-use stadium in the Al-Sa'ada district of Salalah, in southern Oman. The stadium is used only for football matches and is the home stadium of Salalah-based clubs Dhofar, and Al-Nasr. The stadium originally had an estimated capacity of 12,000 people, but with the 2010 renovation making the stadium an all-seater, the maximum capacity decreased to an estimated 8 to 9 thousand spectators. Although opened officially in 2009, the stadium has been undergoing renovation ever since, and because of protest from the football community in the city because of the unexpected outcome, the stadium has undergone a plan to eventually house close to 20,000 spectators. Salalah
