2007–08 Montenegrin First League
The 2007–08 Montenegrin First League was the second season of top-tier football in Montenegro, since the vote for Montenegrin independence split the Montenegrin FA from Serbia's. FK Jedinstvo and FK Berane were relegated to the second league, giving FK Bokelj their first time in the top league of Montenegro. The 2007-08 season began on 11 August 2007 and ended on 24 May 2008. Teams FK Berane was directly relegated to the Montenegrin Second League after finishing 12th in last year's standings. Their place was taken by Second League champions Lovćen Cetinje. 10th placed Dečić Tuzi and 11th placed Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje had to compete in two-legged relegation play-offs. Jedinstvo was relegated by losing 4–2 on aggregate against the 2nd placed team from Second League, Bokelj Kotor. Montenegrin First League
The Montenegrin First League (Montenegrin language, Montenegrin: ''Prva crnogorska fudbalska liga'' — ''Prva CFL'' — ''1. CFL''; ), referred to as the Meridianbet 1. CFL for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional Association football, football league in Montenegro. Founded in 2006, competition is headed by the Football Association of Montenegro. 10 teams participate in this league. The winner of the Montenegrin First League starts the qualifications for the UEFA Champions League from the second round. FK Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje
Fudbalski klub Jedinstvo ( Montenegrin: Фудбалски клуб Јединство), known as Jedinstvo Franca for sponsorship reasons, is football club from Bijelo Polje, Montenegro, currently competing in the Montenegrin First League. The club was established in 1922. History FK Jedinstvo (''FC United'') was founded in 1922, as a first football team in Bijelo Polje. Tuzi
Tuzi (, ; or ''Tuzi'') is a small town in the central region of Montenegro, and the seat of Tuzi Municipality. It is located along a main road between the city of Podgorica and the Albanian border crossing, just a few kilometers north of Lake Skadar. The Church of St. Anthony and Qazimbeg's Mosque are located in the centre of the town. Branko "Sosa" Babić (; born 11 September 1950) is a Serbian former football manager and player. Playing career Babić made his senior debut with Yugoslav Second League club Osijek in the 1969–70 season. He also played abroad for Beringen (Belgium) and Saint-Dié (France). Podgorica City Stadium ( cnr-Latn, Stadion pod Goricom, Стадион под Горицом) is an all-seater multi-purpose stadium in Podgorica, Montenegro. Its seating capacity changed over the years due to several renovations, as of 2019 it has 11,080 seats. The stadium is the home ground of the Montenegro national football team, Montenegro national team and FK Budućnost Podgorica, Budućnost. History Podgorica City Stadium was built in 1945, following World War II. Before the war, Budućnost and other clubs from Podgorica played their matches in a field near that location. Podgorica ( cnr-Cyrl, Подгорица; ) is the Capital city, capital and List of cities and towns in Montenegro, largest city of Montenegro. The city is just north of Lake Skadar and close to coastal destinations on the Adriatic Sea. Stadion Pod Vrmcem
Stadion Pod Vrmcem is a football stadium in Kotor, Montenegro. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Bokelj. The stadium holds 1,000 people. History The first football ground in Kotor was situated at Rakite suburb, near the Adriatic coast. At the same location, after 1945, a new ground was built. The stadium was renovated few times. It's situated near the beach in Bay of Kotor and it's the home ground of FK Bokelj. Except Bokelj's matches, at the Stadion pod Vrmcem, every year is playing final match of Nikša Bućin Cup, competition for Third League clubs from south Montenegro. Kotor (Cyrillic script, Cyrillic: Котор, ), historically known as Cattaro (from Italian language, Italian: ), is a town in Coastal Montenegro, Coastal region of Montenegro. FK Rudar Pljevlja, commonly known as Rudar Pljevlja or simply Rudar, is a football club based in Pljevlja, Montenegro. It currently plays in the Montenegrin Second League, the country's second tier. OFK Petrovac is a professional football club based in Petrovac, Montenegro. They currently compete in the First League of Montenegro. History OFK Petrovac was founded in 1969, under the name ''FK Nafta''. During the first season, they played in the lowest-tier competition - Fourth League - South.
