The 2007–08 Kuwaiti Premier League season is the 46th since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 7 December 2007, and the final matchday was on the 4 April 2008. Al Kuwait won the title for the 3rd successive time. The Kuwait Premier League (), known as Zain Premier League due to sponsorship reasons, is the top division of the Kuwait football pyramid system. Formed in 1961, Kuwait SC holds the best record in the competition, having won 20 times. History The Kuwaiti Premier League officially began in the 1961/62 season, after playing unofficially for eight years (played with group of clubs: "Ahli - Al Jazeera - Arabism - Gulf - Solidarity - Al-Qubali, Al-Nahda, Al-Sharqai, Al-Merqab, Al-Mawalim and Al-Taawon). Ziad Jaziri (; born 12 July 1978) is a Tunisian former professional footballer who played as a striker. He has 64 caps and 14 goals for the Tunisia national team, and was called up to the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He was also in the 2002 World Cup squad. Firas Mohamad Al Khatib (; born 9 June 1983) is a Syrian former footballer who mainly played as a forward. He is the Syria national team all-time top goalscorer, with 36 goals. Club career Early life Al-Khatib began playing football at Al-Karamah SC, he was included in the club's categories U-14, with whom he played for two seasons. One of the most important achievements of Al Khatib with youth Al Karamah was the victory of the Republic Cup and the title of the league's top scorer twice 1994–95, 1995–96. Bashar Abdullah Abdul Aziz (; born 12 October 1977) is a Kuwaiti former professional footballer who played as a forward. He was a part of the mini revival of Kuwaiti football between 1996 and 1998. His part included winning two Gulf Cups, reaching the semi-finals of the AFC Asian Cup and coming second in the Arab Cup and Asian Olympics.
