The 2007–08 Everton F.C. season was Everton's 16th season in the Premier League, and their 54th consecutive season in the top division of English football. Season summary After a sluggish start, Everton climbed the table and stood fourth with ten games left to play. Unfortunately, Everton only won three of these ten games and finished the season in fifth, with 65 points. In many other seasons this would have been good enough to clinch fourth place and Champions League qualification - indeed, Everton finished with more points than they had in 2004–05, when they had finished fourth - but, due to the good form of arch-rivals Liverpool, Everton were forced into fifth, consigning them to UEFA Cup football. Nonetheless, this was a great result for a club with limited financial resources, and served to enhance manager David Moyes' reputation as one of the best managers in England. James Vaughan (striker)
James Oliver Vaughan (born 14 July 1988) is an English former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. He is currently the loans pathway manager at Everton F.C., Everton. Vaughan, who was born in Birmingham, signed his first professional contract with Everton F.C., Everton. He played for the club between 2005 and 2011, including loan spells at Derby County F.C., Derby County, Leicester City F.C., Leicester City and Crystal Palace F.C., Crystal Palace, before signing for Norwich in May 2011. He then had a loan spell at Huddersfield Town A.F.C., Huddersfield Town for the majority of the 2012–13 season, before signing permanent terms on 3 July 2013. He spent two and a half seasons with Huddersfield before joining Birmingham City F.C., Birmingham City on loan.
