2007 İstanbul Cup
The 2007 İstanbul Cup was a tennis tournament played on indoor carpet courts. It was the third edition of the İstanbul Cup, and was part of the WTA Tier III tournaments of the 2007 WTA Tour. It was held in Istanbul from 21 through 26 May 2007. WTA Tier III Tournaments
The WTA Tier III tournaments were Women's Tennis Association tennis third-level tournaments held from 1990 until the end of the 2008 season. The line-up of events varied over the years due to tournaments being promoted, demoted or cancelled. From 2009, most Tier III and Tier IV tournaments from previous seasons became WTA International Tournaments The WTA International tournaments was a category for tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. Pemra Özgen
Pemra Özgen (born 8 May 1986) is a Turkish tennis player. Özgen has won 18 singles and 23 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. On 26 August 2019, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 182. On 14 October 2013, she peaked at No. 179 in the WTA doubles rankings. Playing for Turkey Fed Cup team, Özgen has a win–loss record of 41–44 as of June 2024. Özgen is an alumna of Istanbul Bilgi University. Latisha Chan (born 17 August 1989), formerly known by her Chinese name Chan Yung-jan (; ), is a Taiwanese professional tennis player who is a former world No. 1 in doubles. Catalina Castaño Álvarez (; born 7 July 1979) is a Colombian former tennis player. Her highest singles ranking is world No. 35 which she achieved July 2006. In her career, she won ten titles on the ITF Women's Circuit, six in singles and four in doubles, as well as one doubles title on both the WTA Tour and Challenger Tour. Castaño defeated top-20 players such as Nicole Vaidišová, Anna-Lena Grönefeld, Patty Schnyder, Paola Suárez, Li Na and Lucie Šafářová. Çağla Büyükakçay (; born 28 September 1989) is a Turkish professional tennis player. She won her first title at her home tournament in Istanbul becoming the first Turkish woman to lift a WTA Tour title. She has won 12 singles and 15 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. In September 2016, she reached her highest singles ranking of world No. 60. On 29 February 2016, she peaked at world No. 111 in the WTA doubles rankings. Vania King (born February 3, 1989) is a retired American tennis player. A former top-10 doubles player, King won both the Wimbledon and US Open women's doubles titles in 2010 with partner Yaroslava Shvedova, with whom she also reached the final of the 2011 US Open.
