Kolmonen
Kolmonen or III divisioona is the fifth level in the Finnish football league system, league system of Finnish football and comprises 108 Finland, Finnish football (soccer), football teams. The III divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Kolmonen (''Number Three'' in English and ''Trean'' in Swedish). Until the end of 2023 season, Kolmonen was the fourth level in the pyramid, but after the creation of new second-tier Ykkösliiga, Kolmonen fell down one level, starting in 2024. The competition There are 108 clubs in the Kolmonen, divided in 10 groups of 8 to 12 teams each representing a geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once on their home ground and once on that of their opponents. The top team in each Kolmonen group is promoted to Kakkonen and the two lowest placed teams are normally relegated to the Nelonen (football), Nelonen. Administration Football ... Kiffen
Kronohagens Idrottsförening (abbreviated KIF or Kiffen) () is a sports club from Helsinki, Finland. The club was founded on 27 September 1908, and has been mainly known for the achievements of its association football and handball teams. In the past the club also played at the top level in ice hockey and has won the ''Kalevan malja'' (Kaleva Cup) in athletics. Other sports that the club participates include shooting, bandy, bowling, and boxing. The men's football team is historically one of the most successful teams in Finland, and won the national football championship on three occasions during the 1910s, but currently plays in the Kakkonen (Second Division), the third tier of Finnish football. FC Viikingit
FC Viikingit is a Finnish football club based in Vuosaari, East Helsinki, and currently playing in the ''Vitonen'', the sixth tier of Finnish football. They play their home matches at Vuosaaren urheilukenttä, also called Heteniitty. The club's name and crest refer to Vikings, and they are known for their red colour. FC Viikingit played the 2007 season in the Finnish premier division (''Veikkausliiga''), but were relegated to the ''Ykkönen'' and competed there until 2014, when they were relegated to Kakkonen. The club's reserve team, FC Viikkarit, were promoted to the ''Kakkonen'' for the 2014 season but they had to give it up, because they were not able to play on the same division as the main team. Ponnistus
Helsingin Ponnistus (abbreviated Ponnistus) is a football club from Helsinki, Finland. The club was formed in 1887 making it the oldest football club in Finland. The men's first team currently plays in the Nelonen (Fourth Division) and their home ground is at the Haapaniemen Kenttä. Background The sports club was founded on 6 September 1887 by Viktor Damm (1864–1944) supported by 5 other young men. In its early days the club specialised in gymnastics and athletics. Nowadays football is the main sport. The club has also been playing bandy. It was the runner-up for the bandy championship of the Finnish Workers' Sports Federation in 1948. IF Gnistan (''Kipinä'' in Finnish; ''The Spark'' in English), commonly known as Gnistan, is a Finnish football club from the city of Helsinki, founded in 1924. Jalkapalloseura Airport City (abbreviated AC Vantaa) was a football club from Vantaa in Finland. The club was formed in 1998 and their home ground was at ISS Stadion in Myyrmäki, Vantaa. Background The club was founded in 1998 as a flagship club for Vantaa following the merger of Tikkurilan Palloseura and Vantaan Jalkapalloseura men's first teams with assistance from Koivukylän Palloseura, Pallokerho-50 and Itä-Vantaan Urheilijat clubs. Pallokerho Keski-Uusimaa (abbreviated PK Keski-Uusimaa or PKKU) is a football club serving the sub-region of Keski-Uusimaa in Finland and is centred on the towns of Järvenpää, Kerava and Tuusula. The club was formed in 2005 and the men's first team currently plays in the newly formed Ykkönen (Second Division). The Chairman of PK Keski-Uusimaa is Mikko Bergman. Tuusulan Palloseura (abbreviated TuPS) is a sports club from Tuusula in Finland. The club was formed in 1971 and their home ground is at the Tuusulan urheilukeskus. The men's football first team currently plays in the Kolmonen (Third Division) while the ladies team plays in Section A of the Kakkonen. The Chairman of TuPS is Jari Klemetti. SAPA (Savannan Pallo)
SAPA (original name Savannan Pallo) was founded in Helsinki in 1970. The club was established at the Savanna restaurant when a group of young men wanted more activities than sitting around the place. It was eventually decided that a sports club's name could not be the restaurant's name and as a result the name was changed to the abbreviation SAPA. In addition to football the club provides for the sport of floorball. SAPA run two men's teams, their home ground being located at the Kumpulanlaakson kenttä. (Kumpulanlaakso playing-field). The women's football team played one season in the 1970s in the Finnish first division. Junior football started in June 1986 and the club currently provides for a wide range of age groups. Pajamäen Pallo-Veikot
Pajamäen Pallo-Veiko (abbreviated PPV) is a Helsinki-based football club centred on Pajamäki. The club was formed in 1969 and has a catchment covering the western Helsinki area. From the outset the development of junior football has been an important part of club activities. In the first decade of the new millennium the number of junior players has increased by over a hundred and there have been similar advancements at the adult level. PPV are one of Helsinki's longest-running lower division clubs. For almost 40 years the PPV first team has been playing at the Kolmonen level and has experienced neither relegation or promotion.
