2006–07 Serbian Cup
The 2006–07 Serbian Cup season was the first staging of Serbia's football knockout competition. It was the first tournament that Serbia ever held as an independent football association. Montenegro also held its first independent cup tournament in the 2006–07 season. The predecessor competition was the Serbia and Montenegro Cup until that state dissolved. Heavy favorites Red Star defeated Vojvodina to win the tournament and become Serbia's first cup winner and later clinched the Meridian SuperLiga title to claim its tenth domestic double. Serbian Cup
The Serbian Cup ( Serbian: Куп Србије / Kup Srbije), also known as Mozzart Serbian Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the national football cup of Serbia. The winner of the competition gets a spot in the UEFA Europa League qualifying round. History Serbia's cup tournament is the legal successor to the Serbia and Montenegro Cup and in turn of the Yugoslav Cup. This cup tournament lasted for four seasons up until the dissolution of the state union of Serbia and Montenegro in 2006. The tournament was dominated by Serbian clubs with no Montenegrin sides reaching the final. Belgrade giants Red Star were easily the most successful club, reaching the final all four years winning twice and losing in the final the other two seasons. Surprisingly, Red Star's cross-town rival Partizan did not appear in a single final. FK Timok
FK Timok 1919 () is a football club based in Zaječar, Serbia. They compete in the Serbian League East, the third tier of the national league system. History Founded in 1919, the club participated in the regional leagues during its early stages. They achieved their first notable success by defeating Dinamo Zagreb 3–1 in the first round of the 1973 Yugoslav Cup. The club also competed in the Yugoslav Second League for three seasons between 1981 and 1984. After the dissolution of SFR Yugoslavia, the club reached the second tier for the second time, but finished bottom of the table in the 1992–93 Second League of FR Yugoslavia. FK Rad () is a football club based in Banjica, Belgrade, Serbia. They compete in the Belgrade Zone League, the fourth tier of the national league system. FK Srem
FK Srem () is a football club based in Sremska Mitrovica, Vojvodina, Serbia. They compete in the Srem Intermunicipal League, the sixth tier of the national league system. History The club was founded as Građanski in 1919. They initially competed within the Belgrade Football Subassociation. After the reorganization of the Yugoslav football league system, the club joined the Novi Sad Football Subassociation. Following the conclusion of World War II, the club was restored and started competing as Srem in the 1946 Serbian League North. They reached the reformed Yugoslav Second League in 1958. Fudbalski klub Borac 1926 (), commonly known as Borac Čačak, is a professional football club based in Čačak, Serbia. The home ground is Čačak Stadium, which has seating capacity of 8,000. As of 2024–25 season, the club competes in second tier Serbian First League. The word Borac in translation means ''fighter'' in English. Penalty Shootout (association Football)
In association football, a penalty shoot-out (previously known as kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) has expired. For example, in a FIFA World Cup, penalties are used in elimination matches; the round of 32, the round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, and the final. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different players; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. FK Mokra Gora
FK Mokra Gora (; ) is a football club based in Zubin Potok, Kosovo. They compete in the Šumadija-Raška Zone League, the fourth tier of the national league system. History The club participated in the last two seasons of the Serbia and Montenegro Cup ( 2004–05 and 2005–06). They were eliminated in the opening round on each occasion, convincingly losing to Obilić (5–1) and OFK Beograd (3–0), respectively. In the 2006–07 Serbian Cup, the club would go on to defeat Borac Čačak in the first round on penalties. FK Vlasina (Serbian Cyrillic: ФК Власина) is a football club based in Vlasotince, Serbia, that competes in the Serbian League East. OFK Mladenovac
OFK Mladenovac () is a football club based in Mladenovac, Belgrade, Serbia. They compete in the Belgrade Zone League, the fourth tier of the national league system. History The original club became a member of the Belgrade Football Subassociation in 1924 under the name MSK Vojvoda Katić. They changed their name to FK Jedinstvo in 1945 following World War II and eventually to OFK Mladenovac in 1962.
