Perth Glory Football Club is an Australian professional Association football, soccer club based in Perth, Perth, Western Australia. It competes in the country's premier men's competition, A-League Men, under Professional sports league organization#Systems around the world, licence from Australian Professional Leagues. Founded in 1995, Perth Glory is one of three A-League clubs to survive from the now-defunct National Soccer League (Australia), National Soccer League (NSL), playing its debut match in this competition in October 1996 for the 1996–97 National Soccer League, 1996–97 season. Jimmy Downey
James Downey (born 19 October 1987) is an Australian footballer who last played for Ballarat Red Devils in the National Premier Leagues Victoria Division 1. Club career Downey was with the Queensland Academy of Sport between 2003 and 2004 before joining the Australian Institute of Sport in 2005. Downey holds the AIS football program beep test record (16.3). In March 2007 Downey was signed by Perth Glory where he is contracted to the end of the 2009/2010 A-League season. On 12 January 2010, it was announced he would be joining North Queensland for the rest of the 2009–10 season in a swap for striker Daniel McBreen. Aleksandar "Aleks" Vrteski (; born 28 September 1988) is a former footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Stirling Lions. Born in Australia, he represented Australia internationally before switching to represent Macedonia. Club career Having been involved with Perth Glory's former youth development scheme, ''Future Glory'', in the past, Vrteski was invited by technical manager, Mich d'Avray, to train with the first team as part of the Pathway to Glory initiative midway through 2005. Daniel John Hay (born 15 May 1975) is a retired New Zealand professional footballer who formerly managed the New Zealand men's national football team, New Zealand U-23, and New Zealand U-20. Jamie Coyne (born 2 January 1982) is an Australian former soccer player. He is the younger brother of Chris Coyne and son of former NSL player John Coyne. Ante Kovacevic (born 13 June 1974 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia is an Australian retired professional football (soccer) player who was the Director of Football at Adelaide United FC. Biography Ante Kovacevic started off his senior career at St Albans Dinamo in 1992, the club at which he played as a junior for some time. He spent two years in the senior team at Dinamo, making 41 appearances before moving to Dinamo's sister club Melbourne Knights in 1994. Leonida Christos Bertos (born 20 December 1981) is a New Zealand football coach and former player who is the head coach of Northern NSW NPL side Weston Bears. A winger, he was a New Zealand international from 2003 to 2013, representing his country at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
