2006–07 FC Barcelona Femení Season
The 2006–07 season was the 19th in official competition for FC Barcelona Femení, and their 11th in the top flight of Spanish football. Summary Ahead of the 2006–07 season, the women's section was significantly restructured and integrated into the structure of (male) youth sections of the club. As a result, the five women's youth teams ceased to exist, leaving 80 young players without a club (many, including 12-year-old future star Alexia Putellas, went to the youth teams of RCD Espanyol (women), Espanyol). Only the three senior teams (A, B, and C) from the women's section were planned to continue operating. The biggest stars of Barcelona Femení in Maribel Domínguez and Patricia Pérez (footballer), Patricia Pérez, as well as coach Natalia Astrain, left the club. The changes, confirmed by Joan Laporta, were heavily criticised by parents of the displaced players, who called the club sexist and avaricious. Astrain was replaced as head coach by Xavi Llorens. Judith Acedo
The Book of Judith is a deuterocanonical book included in the Septuagint and the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christian Old Testament of the Bible but excluded from the Hebrew canon and assigned by Protestants to the apocrypha. It tells of a Jewish widow, Judith, who uses her beauty and charm to kill an Assyrian general who has besieged her city, Bethulia. With this act, she saves nearby Jerusalem from total destruction. Instead, the book is classified as a parable, theological novel, or even the first historical novel. The Roman Catholic Church formerly maintained the book's historicity, assigning its events to the reign of King Manasseh of Judah and that the names were changed in later centuries for an unknown reason. ...
