The 2006–07 Eredivisie season was the 47th season of the Eredivisie, the top level of ice hockey in the Netherlands. Eredivisie (ice Hockey)
The ''Eredivisie'' ("Honour Division") was, during its existence, the only professional ice hockey league in the Netherlands and the highest level of competition organized by the Nederlandse IJshockey Bond (NIJB; English: "Dutch Ice Hockey Federation"). Formed in 1945 and playing continuously since 1964, the league mainly featured Dutch teams, although in some seasons certain Belgian teams competed. The league featured a mix of Dutch, European and overseas players. The winner of the Eredivisie was crowned the Dutch National Champion and represented the Netherlands in the IIHF Continental Cup. In 2015, with most of its teams facing financial problems and its top team, Tilburg Trappers, joining the German Oberliga, the Eredivise was suspended with the remaining teams joining the BeNe League. From 2015, the Eerste Divisie became the highest league organised by the NIJB, as a second tier below the BeNe League (now CEHL). Since 2020 this second tier league is called Eredivisie. ... Eaters Limburg (originally known as the Smoke Eaters Geleen) are a professional ice hockey team based in Geleen, Netherlands. They play in the Central European Hockey League, the highest-level hockey league in the Netherlands and Belgium. Home games are played at the Glanerbrook. History The Geleen Smoke Eaters, named after the Trail Smoke Eaters, played their first game against Amsterdam on November 2, 1968. Tilburg Trappers
The Tilburg Trappers are a professional ice hockey club based in Tilburg, the Netherlands. They previously played in the highest level ice hockey league in the country, but have been playing in the German Oberliga Nord since the 2015-16 season. Founded on 21 October 1938, they were officially recognised by the National Federation on 18 January 1939. The Trappers were crowned Eredivisie champions for the first time in the 1946-47 season, adding another 14 National Dutch Championships, 15 Dutch National Cups and 3 German Oberliga Championships over the years. The club has an amateur branch, which is a separate legal entity and plays in the highest Dutch league ( Eredivsie). The Trappers play their home games in the Stappegoor IJssportcentrum Tilburg. Amstel Tijgers Amsterdam
The Amsterdam Tigers are an ice hockey team in Amsterdam, Netherlands, playing in the First Division. History The Tigers existed in various guises from their foundation in 1963 until 2010 when the professional team folded, leaving only the amateur and junior teams. The team reformed in time for the 2014–15 Eerste Divisie season. The following season they moved up to the newly formed BeNe League, where they remained until the 2019–20 season. Ahead of the 2019–20 BeNe Season, the Tigers announced they would be leaving the league and joining the Dutch First Division. Upon reformation, the team was known as Amstel Tijgers Amsterdam before changing in 2017 to its present name. The amateur and junior teams have kept the Tigers moniker.
