2006 U-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2006 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was played in Sri Lanka from 2 to 15 February 2006. It was the sixth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The final was played between Pakistan Under-19 cricket team, Pakistan and India Under-19 cricket team, India in Colombo, which Pakistan won by 38 runs, enabling them to become the first back-to-back champions of the tournament. International Cricket Council
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global Sports governing body, governing body of cricket. It was founded as the Imperial Cricket Conference in 1909 by representatives from Australia, England, and South Africa. Sinhalese Sports Club Ground
The Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground (SSC Cricket Ground) (; ) is one of the most famous cricket grounds in Sri Lanka, and the headquarters of Sri Lanka Cricket, the controlling body of cricket in Sri Lanka. The ground is sometimes described as "the Lord's of Sri Lanka", It hosts the most domestic finals and is an important international cricket venue. Zimbabwean U-19 Cricket Team
The Zimbabwe national under-19 cricket team represents Zimbabwe in under-19 international cricket. The team controlled by Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC). Zimbabwe has qualified for the Under-19 Cricket World Cup on every occasion since 1998, by virtue of being a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Angelo Mathews
Angelo Davis Mathews (; ; born 2 June 1987) is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer and a former captain of the national cricket team in all formats. Mathews plays all formats for Sri Lanka. Mathews was a member of the team that won the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 and was part of the team that made the finals of 2011 Cricket World Cup, 2009 ICC World Twenty20 and 2012 ICC World Twenty20. Mathews and Lasith Malinga hold the record for the highest ninth wicket partnership in ODI cricket. In July 2022, Mathews played in his 100th Test match for Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka Under-19 cricket team represents the country of Sri Lanka in U-19 international cricket. The team controlled by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). The Scotland Under-19 cricket team represents the nation of Scotland in Under-19 cricket at international level. Dean Elgar (born 11 June 1987) is a South African cricketer who played Tests and ODIs, and also a former Test captain. He is a left-handed opening batter and a slow-left arm bowler. Elgar captained the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2006. He now plays for the Northerns cricket team and Titans cricket team in the major South African cricket competitions. He was included in the Northerns team for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. On 23 March 2018, he became the second batsman after Desmond Haynes to carry his bat through an innings on three occasions in Test cricket history. South African U-19 Cricket Team
The South African Under-19 cricket team have been playing official Under-19 test matches since 1995. International players to have represented the team include Wayne Parnell, Neil McKenzie, AB de Villiers, Mark Boucher, Makhaya Ntini, Kagiso Rabada, Andile Phehlukwayo and Aiden Markram, all of whom went on to play for South Africa. They won the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2014 and finished runner-up in both 2002 and 2008. In February 2021, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced that the team would take part in South Africa's Provincial first-class and List A cricket tournaments, starting with the 2020–21 CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup and the 2020–21 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge respectively. Mushfiqur Rahim (; born 9 May 1987) is a Bangladeshi cricketer and the former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team. He is a right-handed middle-order Batting (cricket), batter and wicket-keeper in the national team. Mushfiqur started his international career in 2005 against England cricket team, England at the age of 18 years and 17 days. The Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team represents the nation of Bangladesh in cricket at Under-19 level.
