2006 Qatar Ladies Open
The 2006 Qatar Ladies Open (known as the 2006 Qatar Total Open for sponsorship reasons), was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 6th edition of the Qatar Total Open, and was part of the Tier II Series of the 2006 WTA Tour. It took place at the Khalifa International Tennis Complex in Doha, Qatar, from February 27 through March 5, 2007. WTA Tier II Tournaments
The WTA Tier II tournaments were Women's Tennis Association tennis second-level tournaments held from 1990 until the end of the 2008 season. The line-up of events varied over the years, with tournaments being promoted, demoted or cancelled. Elena Alexandrovna Likhovtseva (russian: Елена Александровна Лиховцева ; born 8 September 1975) is a Kazakhstani-born Russian former tennis player. She turned professional in January 1992, at the age of 16. Together with Mahesh Bhupathi she won the Wimbledon mixed-doubles championship in 2002, and the Australian Open mixed-doubles championship with Daniel Nestor in 2007. She also was runner-up in a number of other contests, including the Australian Open women's doubles event in 2004, French Open women's doubles in 2004 and mixed doubles in 2003, and the 2000 and 2004 US Open women's doubles. Liezel Huber (née Horn; born 21 August 1976) is a South African- American retired tennis player who represented the United States internationally since August 2007. Huber has won four Grand Slam titles in women's doubles with partner Cara Black, one with Lisa Raymond, and two mixed doubles titles with Bob Bryan. Zheng Jie (born 5 July 1983) is a retired tennis player from China. In May 2009, she achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 15. Neha Uberoi, also known by her married name Neha Uberoi Khangoora (born 6 February 1986), is an American former professional tennis player and fitness blogger. Li Ting (; born 5 January 1980) is a Chinese former professional tennis player. She won the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in women's doubles alongside Sun Tiantian.
