2006 Nuevo León State Election
A local election was scheduled to be held in the States of Mexico, Mexican state of Nuevo León on Sunday, July 2, 2006. Voters will go to the polls to elect, on the local level: *Municipalities of Nuevo León, 51 municipal presidents (mayors) to serve for a three-year term. *42 local deputies (26 by the first-past-the-post system and 16 by proportional representation) to serve for a three-year term in the Congress of Nuevo León. Cristina Díaz
María Cristina Díaz Salazar (born 17 September 1958) is a Mexican lawyer and politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). She is a former municipal president (mayor) of Guadalupe, Nuevo León (municipality), Guadalupe, Nuevo León. Today, she is senator for the state of Nuevo León. Apodaca (municipality)
Apodaca () is a city and its surrounding municipality that is part of Monterrey Metropolitan area. It lies in the northeastern part of the Monterrey Metropolitan Area. It is known for becoming recently a heavy industrialized city. As of 2019, the city houses 70% of the industrial plants of the state of Nuevo León. Apodaca is as well the fourth most exporting city in México. The municipality has an area of 224.7 km2. The population has recently increased from around 115,000 people in 1990 to almost 600,000 in 2015. Being one of the fastest-growing territories in terms of population in the Metropolitan Area, becoming the third most populous municipality as of 2015. Dionisio Herrera
José Dionisio de la Trinidad de Herrera y Díaz del Valle (9 October 1781 in Choluteca, Honduras – 13 June 1850 in San Vicente, El Salvador) was a Liberal Honduran politician, head of state of Honduras from 1824 to 1827 and head of state of Nicaragua from 1830 to 1833. During his terms, Honduras and Nicaragua were states within the Federal Republic of Central America. Herrera was an uncle of the Liberal Central American general Francisco Morazán. Santa Catarina is a city in Santa Catarina Municipality in the state of Nuevo León, Mexico that is part of the Monterrey Metropolitan area. History The name of this city comes from the Catholic Saint Catherine of Alexandria. The city of Santa Catarina was not "founded" in a traditional manner; at the beginning, it was only a resting point for travelers between Monterrey and Saltillo. The first recorded name was "Estancia de Santa Catarina" (Shelter of Santa Catarina). San Nicolás de los Garza, sometimes known only as San Nicolás, is a city and coextensive municipality in the Mexican state of Nuevo León that is part of the Monterrey metropolitan area. Fernando Margáin Berlanga (born 1952) is a Mexican politician from the State of Nuevo León affiliated with the National Action Party (PAN) who has served in the upper house of the Mexican Congress.
