The 2005–06 season was the 100th season in the existence of RC Lens and the club's 15th consecutive season in the top-flight of French football. Gervais Martel
Gervais Martel (born 20 November 1954 in Oignies) is a French businessman who served as the president of French football club Lens from 1988 to 2012 and 2013 to 2017. Under his leadership, Lens won their first ever Division 1 title in the 1997–98 season, and won their first ever Coupe de la Ligue title the following year. Issam Jemâa
Issam Jemâa (; born 28 January 1984 in Gabès) is a Tunisian former professional footballer who played as a forward. He started his footballing career for Espérance Sportive de Tunis, and was later signed by French side Lens. A Tunisia international since 2005, he is the all-time leading scorer of the Tunisia national team. International career Jemâa was called up to the 2006 World Cup, but was later forced out from the squad due to injury. He was also called up to the Tunisia national team for the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana and the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola. Jérôme Leroy (footballer)
Jérôme Leroy (born 4 November 1974) is a French former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Playing career Born in Béthune, Pas-de-Calais, Leroy started playing for Paris Saint-Germain. With PSG he participated in the final of the 1997 Cup Winners' Cup which was lost to Barcelona. During the 1995–96 season he joined Laval on loan. Following a stint at Marseille, he returned to PSG, where he reached the 2003 French Cup final. He moved to Guingamp during the 2003–04 winter transfer window. Luis Fernández, Leroy's former mentor at Paris Saint-Germain, brought him to Teddy Stadium, home to Beitar Jerusalem, in December 2005 from Ligue 1 club Lens, beating off competition from ''l'OM''.
