2005–06 Mersin İdmanyurdu Season
Mersin İdmanyurdu (also ''Mersin İdman Yurdu'', ''Mersin İY'', or ''MİY'') Sports Club; located in Mersin, east Mediterranean coast of Turkey in 2005–06. The team participated in Second League Category A for 4th time in the league's 5th season. Mersin İdmanyurdu football team has finished 2005–06 season in 16th place in Turkish Second League Category A. Team participated in 2005–06 Turkish Cup, and eliminated after group stage. Hasan Ahi was club president at the start of the season. Erol Ertan was elected president in the mid-season. MİY started to season with Levent Arıkdoğan as the head coach. Then Engin Korukır and Nasır Belci took the position within the season. Serkan Merç and Birand Yataş had the most appearances, with 36 each. Mersin İdman Yurdu was a Turkish sports club from Mersin, Turkey in the eastern Mediterranean Region. The team played in the Turkish first division for 15 seasons, and after the 1983–84 season the football team played in the Turkish second and third divisions. The team was promoted to the Turkish second level division after the 2008–09 season. MİY became the champions of the Turkish second division during the 2010–11 season and earned promotion to the Turkish Süper Lig during the 2011–12 Süper Lig, 2011–12 season. Bursa Atatürk Stadium () was a multi-purpose stadium in Bursa, Turkey. It was used mostly for football matches and was the home ground of Bursaspor. The stadium held 25,213 and was built in 1979. Ömer Aysan Barış (born 23 July 1982) is a Turkish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Early life Born in 1982, Aysan was born and raised in Kocaeli, where he started playing football, before enrolling in a Kocaeli football school and joining the youth academy of Gölcükspor, where he started his senior career.
