2005–06 FC Thun Season
During the 2005–06 Swiss football season, FC Thun competed in the Swiss Super League. Season summary Thun defeated Dynamo Kyiv and Malmö to reach the Champions League group stage for the first (and, as of 2012, only) time in their history, where they were drawn in Group B with English giants Arsenal, four-time winners Ajax of the Netherlands and Czech champions Sparta Prague. Thun finished third and were knocked out of the Champions League, although there was consolation as they were demoted to the third round UEFA Cup, their first appearance in Europe's secondary cup competition. The European adventure couldn't last though, as they were knocked out by German giants Hamburg. FC Thun
Fussballclub Thun 1898 is a Swiss association football, football team from the Bernese Oberland town of Thun. The club plays in the Swiss Super League from 2025–26, the top tier of the Swiss football league system, following promotion from the Swiss Challenge League in the 2024–25 Swiss Challenge League, 2024–25 season. The club plays at the Stockhorn Arena which accommodates a total of 10,000 supporters, both seated and standing. The club's colours are red and white. Nenad Savić
Nenad Savić ( sr-cyrl, Ненад Савић; born 28 January 1981) is a Serbian-born Swiss former professional footballer. Career Early years Savić's family moved to Switzerland while he was still very young. He started his youth football with local amateur club FC Dietikon and as 12-year-old he moved on to the youth department of FC Zürich. In 1997 he moved from their U-21 team to the U-21 of Grasshopper Club Zürich and a year later advanced to their first team for the 1998–99 season. Pape Omar Faye (born 1 January 1987) is a Senegalese professional footballer who plays as a forward. Career Faye started his career at Senegal. In 2005–06 he landed in Europe and played for Swiss side FC Thun. In Sept 2005, Faye made his debut in the UEFA Champions League in 87th minute as a substitute for Mauro Lustrinelli in the opening game of the group stage against Arsenal in Arsenal Stadium. He also played in the UEFA Europa League for FC Vaduz. Faye was a member of the 2009 European football betting scandal and was suspended for one game. Armand Deumi Tchani (born 12 March 1979) is a Cameroonian former professional footballer who played as a defender. He made three FIFA-official appearances for the Cameroon national team. Club career Deumi started his career in his native country of Cameroon playing for UCB Douala and Kadji Sport Academy de Douala. In 1999, he transferred to Switzerland to play for FC Sion. Deumi spent three years at FC Sion and was impressive enough to earn a move to Swiss league rivals FC Thun. He became a crucial part of the team but missed a large part of the 2003–04 season after suffering a ruptured knee ligament. Adriano Faria Pimenta (born 14 November 1982) is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Career Pimenta was born in Goiânia. He started his career in the youth squad of Guarani FC. Before the 2000–01 season he transferred to the Japanese club Nagoya Grampus Eight. After one season in Japan he returned to Guarani FC, but continued to play only a substitute role. He therefore transferred before the 2005–06 season to the Swiss Super League club FC Thun and signed a contract through June 2008. Ljubo Milicevic (; born 13 February 1981) is an Australian former professional soccer player who played as a centre back or defensive midfielder.
