The 2005–06 Adelaide United FC season was the club's second season since its establishment in 2003. The club participated in the A-League for the first time after the National Soccer League was replaced. Continuing their good form from the final season of the NSL, Adelaide United finished as Premiers in the inaugural season of the Hyundai A-League. Adelaide United Football Club is a professional men's Association football, soccer club located in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. The club was one of the eight founding members of the A-League Men and have competed in it concurrently since its formation, under North American professional sports league organization#Systems around the world, licence from the Australian Professional Leagues. Established in 2003, the club was formed to replace Adelaide City and West Adelaide SC, West Adelaide in the final season of the National Soccer League, and has remained the only professional club from South Australia. Kristian Rees (born 6 January 1980 in Adelaide, South Australia) is an Australian soccer player who plays as a Defender (football), central defender. Club career He made his National Soccer League, NSL debut playing for Adelaide City. He was also a member of Adelaide United's minor-premiership winning squad of 2005/06 and of the team that came runners-up in 2006/07. Jason Spagnuolo
Jason Spagnuolo (born 2 August 1984) is an Australian former professional footballer who last played for Adelaide City in the South Australian Super League. Club career Spagnuolo attended Rostrevor College and graduated in 2002. Spagnuolo joined Adelaide United as injury cover towards the end of the 2005-06 season where he made one substitute appearance and earned his first professional contract the following season. He was Club Champion in the 2006–07 season after an impressive run of games seeing him contribute seven assists in 21 games. Robert Bajic
Robert Bajic (born 29 July 1977 in Whyalla, South Australia), is an Australian footballer. Club career Bajic began his career in 1994 with Adelaide Raiders in the SA Premier League. The following year he moved to Queensland to play with Rocklea United FC in the Brisbane league before being promoted in 1998 to the Brisbane Premier League with the Rochedale Rovers. Bajic spent five seasons with Rochdale, but returned to his home state in 2003, re-signing with the Raiders to again play in the SASL. Michael Matricciani
Michael Matricciani (born 15 March 1986) is a former Australian football (soccer), footballer who currently coaches Melbourne City FC (A-League Women), Melbourne City in the A-League Women. Matricciani coached Adelaide City in the National Premier League until the end of the 2020 season. Louis Karl Brain (born 9 May 1982) is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He played for Adelaide United in the Hyundai A-League's inaugural season. Born in England, he represented the Australia U17 and U20 national teams.
