2005 ICC Trophy
The 2005 ICC Trophy was a cricket tournament held in Ireland between 1 July and 13 July 2005. It was an international one-day tournament played over 50 overs per side between 12 Associate Members of the International Cricket Council. It served as the final part of the Cricket World Cup qualification process, coming with the prize of a place in the 2007 Cricket World Cup (and together with it a share of US$2.5 million for future development) for the five top-ranked teams, and with the prize of official One-Day International status from 1 January 2006 (until the 2009 ICC Trophy) for the five top-ranked teams along with Kenya (who had already been given official one-day status until the 2009 ICC Trophy and a spot in the 2007 World Cup). International Cricket Council
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global Sports governing body, governing body of cricket. It was founded as the Imperial Cricket Conference in 1909 by representatives from Australia, England, and South Africa. Clay Smith (cricketer)
Clay James Smith (born 15 January 1971) is a Bermuda national cricket team, Bermudian former international cricketer who represented the Bermuda national cricket team, Bermudian national team between 1991 and 2007. He also coached the team from 2015 to 2018. Having debuted for Bermuda in 1991, Smith first came to notice at the 1994 ICC Trophy in Kenya, where he ranked fourth in overall runs scored and helped his team to the semi-finals. He remained one of Bermuda's leading batsmen for over a decade, appearing in another three ICC Trophy tournaments and also in several editions of the Regional Super50, West Indian domestic one-day competition (where Bermuda competed as a guest team). A Twenty20 International (T20I) is an international cricket match between two representative teams, each having T20I status, as determined by the International Cricket Council (ICC), and is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. The first T20I was played between Australia and New Zealand on 17 February 2005. Bermuda played their first T20I under the captaincy of Irving Romaine at the Civil Service Cricket Club, Stormont, Belfast, on 3 August 2008, against Scotland. This match was played during the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, which took place between 2–5 August 2008. Saleem Mukuddem (born 20 January 1972) is a South African-born Bermudian former cricketer who played twenty One Day Internationals for the Bermuda national cricket team. International career He played in Bermuda's first ever One Day International, a match against Canada on 17 May 2006, taking two wickets. Three days later, Mukuddem scored 25 runs against Zimbabwe, although this was not enough, as Zimbabwe eventually won by 83 runs. Dwayne Leverock
Russell Dwayne Mark Leverock (born 14 July 1971) is a Bermudian former cricketer. He also served as a policeman and prison van driver. He was popularly nicknamed by his teammates as "Sluggo" during his playing days. Living above an Indian restaurant in Bermuda, Leverock worked as a jailer during his time on the team. At the 2007 Cricket World Cup he was the largest player to grace the pitch, weighing in at 20 stone (280 pounds or 127 kg). However he is not regarded as the heaviest man to ever play international cricket. West Indies right-arm off-break bowler Rahkeem Cornwall weighs over 140 kg and Warwick Armstrong weighed about 22 stone. Lionel Olvin Bernard Cann (born 3 October 1972) is a retired Bermudian cricketer. During his 35 year career, he scored over 1,000 runs in Cup Match. He is an aggressive right-handed middle order batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. In his 22 ODI games to date, he has struck 28 sixes. He has also represented Bermuda in ICC Intercontinental Cup matches, the ICC Americas Championship in 2004 and 2006, and the Stanford 20/20 in 2006.
