2004–05 Valencia CF Season
The 2004–05 season was the 85th season of Valencia. The season ended with the club outside of the UEFA Cup spots. The club won the UEFA Super Cup towards the beginning of the season, but were out of the UEFA Cup spots at the end. Season summary Popular manager Claudio Ranieri returned to Valencia for a second spell in charge after being dismissed by Chelsea. The team started well, winning the UEFA Super Cup and winning 14 points from their first six matches, but in October a strong start were cut short by heralded a run of only one win from seven games and elimination from the Champions League. Form failed to improve in 2005, with a six-match winless run and early elimination from the UEFA Cup. Ranieri was sacked in late February with the team in sixth place. Youth coach Antonio López took charge for the rest of the season, which saw Los Che finish in seventh place and thus qualifying for UEFA Intertoto Cup for next season. 2005–06 Valencia CF Season
During the 2005–06 Spanish football season, Valencia CF competed in La Liga. Season summary Valencia opened a new chapter in its history with the appointment of Spanish high-rated coach Quique Sánchez Flores, who had been successful managing Getafe. The most significant player during the season was new striker David Villa, signed from Real Zaragoza in the summer, who netted 25 goals over the full season but losing the topscoring battle of La Liga to Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o with 26 strikes, which was a near low-record. Valencia ended a league season finished 3rd place, just a single point behind Real Madrid and secured UEFA Champions League third qualifying round in the following season. Rubén Baraja
Rubén Baraja Vegas (; born 11 July 1975) is a Spanish retired footballer, currently a manager. A complete central midfielder with good tackling, technique, and offensive qualities, together with accurate passing and goalscoring ability, he played mostly for Valencia during a 17-year professional career, being an essential figure in five of the club's major titles, which included two La Liga championships. Stefano Fiore (; born 17 April 1975) is an Italian Association football, football manager and former player, who played as an attacking midfielder or on the winger (association football), right wing. José Santiago Cañizares Ruiz (; born 18 December 1969) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper.
