The 2004–05 NLA season was the 67th regular season of the Nationalliga A, the main professional ice hockey league in Switzerland. The season started on September 17, 2004, the last League Qualification game was played on April 14, 2005. Hnat A. Domenichelli (born February 16, 1976) is a Canadian-born former professional ice hockey player. He was drafted by the Hartford Whalers in the fourth round, 83rd overall, of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He played 267 National Hockey League (NHL) games for the Whalers, Calgary Flames, Atlanta Thrashers and Minnesota Wild between 1996 and 2003 before moving to Switzerland where he has played for the remainder of his career in the National League A. After becoming a Swiss citizen in 2009, he would play for Switzerland at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Domenichelli is currently the general manager of HC Lugano of the National League (NL). Tony Virta
Tony Virta (born June 18, 1972) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey forward. He was drafted by the Minnesota Wild as their fourth-round pick in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. On December 5, 2005, Virta received a serious knee injury from a failed hip check against him in a game against Ilves, but recovered to play in the last games of the season. In the summer of 2001 Virta signed with Färjestads BK, but before the season had started he signed with the NHL club Minnesota Wild, who had drafted the same summer, and therefore never played a game for Färjestad. Mark Thomas Streit (born 11 December 1977) is a Swiss former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was formerly the Captain (ice hockey), captain of both the New York Islanders and the Switzerland men's national ice hockey team, Swiss national team. Niklas Hagman (born December 5, 1979) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey forward. He was a third round pick of the Florida Panthers, 70th overall, at the 1999 NHL Entry Draft and made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut with Florida in 2001. Jan Alston (born April 14, 1969) is a Canadian-Swiss ice hockey executive, coach and former professional ice hockey centre. He was granted Swiss citizenship in 2002. He became sport director at Swiss side Lausanne HC in 2011. Playing career A native of Granby, Alston skated at the QMAAA and QMJHL level in his home province of Quebec and then spent his entire pro career in Europe, suiting up in Italy, Germany and Switzerland. Dale B. McTavish (born February 28, 1972) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. McTavish played nine games in the National Hockey League for the Calgary Flames in 1996–97, recording one goal and two assists. He is currently a scout with the Ottawa Senators ice hockey team. Playing career McTavish was born in Eganville, Ontario. He played four seasons of junior hockey with the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League. Oleg Viktorovich Petrov (''Олег Викторович Петров''; born April 18, 1971) is a Russian former ice hockey right winger. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) between 1992 and 2003. Professional career Petrov was drafted 127th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft and became the first Russian to play for the team.
