2004–05 Belgian Cup
The 2004–05 Belgian Cup was the 50th season of the main knockout competition in Belgian association football. After 10 rounds of play, Beerschot were crowned champions following a 2–1 win against Club Brugge in the final at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. Overview Clubs from the first division entered the competition in the round of 32. All rounds were played in one leg except for the quarter-finals and semi-finals. Club Brugge were the defending champions having beaten Beveren 4–2 in the 2004 final at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. In the round of 32, Club Brugge began the defence of their title with a 3–0 win against Eendracht Aalst on 21 November 2004. On the same day, Beerschot defeated Tongeren 2–0. Beerschot A
Koninklijke Beerschot Voetbalclub Antwerpen (), or simply Beerschot, is a Belgian professional football club located in Antwerp, that competes in the top tier Pro League after promotion from second tier in 2023–24 season. In 2013, KFCO Wilrijk decided to integrate the identity of Beerschot AC when they were relegated in the 2012–13 season, not only through their league position but also due to losing their professional licence through financial issues, being officially declared bankrupt on 21 May 2013 and folding shortly afterwards. Overtime (sports)
Overtime (OT) or extra time (ET) is an additional period of play to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament and replays are not allowed. Kris De Wree (born 21 May 1981) is a Belgian football player who plays as a right midfielder or right winger. He has previously played for Lierse SK. He signed a contract at Roda JC from Kerkrade after leaving K.F.C. Germinal Beerschot, where he spent eight years of his career. Gert Verheyen
Gert Verheyen (;} also spelled Verheijen; born 20 September 1970) is a Belgian retired footballer and manager, who was last in charge of Oostende. In a 20-year professional career, he was mainly associated with Anderlecht and Club Brugge (especially the latter), scoring over 200 official goals for both clubs combined; he was known to have rather few technical skills, relying on a hard-working approach. Verheyen represented Belgium in two World Cups and one European Championship. His father Jan was also player and international for Belgium from 1965 till 1976.
