The 2003–04 Honduran Liga Nacional was the 36th edition of the Honduran Liga Nacional. The season was divided into two tournaments, Apertura and Clausura, being conquered by Real C.D. Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras, known as Liga Hondubet for sponsorship reasons (''Honduran National Professional Football League'') is the highest division of domestic Association football, football in Honduras. The league season is divided into Apertura and Clausura, Opening (autumn) and Closing (spring). Pumas UNAH
Pumas de la UNAH or simply Universidad was a Honduran football club. History They were formed to represent the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras. They merged with Broncos, forming ''Broncos de la UNAH'', twice in 1982–83 and 2006–07 and meanwhile played in Choluteca those two seasons. Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano
Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano is a multi-purpose stadium in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. It is currently used mostly for football matches and also has facilities for athletics. It has a capacity of 37,325. History It was built in 1997 for the sixth edition of the Central American Games held there. This stadium was built by Jerónimo Sandoval, mostly known by "Chombo Sandoval", he was the organizer of the 1997 Central American Olympic Games in San Pedro Sula, which caused many controversies. After its completion the stadium became the largest in the country dispatching Estadio Nacional's of that title. It has been the home for Honduras national football team since the 1998 FIFA World Cup qualification, with Estadio Nacional hosting some games on and off. Milton Palacios Suazo
Milton José Palacios Suazo (; born December 2, 1980) is a retired Honduran footballer who played as a centre-back. Club career A tall central defender, Palacios started his career with Olimpia and also played for Victoria. After a 2003 friendly match between Olimpia and Chilean powerhouse Colo-Colo, Iván Zamorano (then a Colo-Colo player) recommended him for the Chilean club; however, both teams failed to reach an agreement despite Colo-Colo having registered the player, and Palacios remained in Olimpia. He joined Marathón in May 2007, but left them in summer 2009 for a short spell at Olimpia only to return to Marathón the same year. In December 2010 he returned to Victoria. José Mauricio Pacini (born 8 June 1976) is an Argentine football player who most recently played for Platense F.C. in the Honduran national league. Narciso Fernández Cayetano (born November 5, 1978) is a Honduran former footballer who played as a full back, midfielder and forward. Club career Nicknamed ''Kalusha'', Fernández played the majority of his career for Marathón and also had spells at Olimpia, Marathón, Platense and Hispano. El Clásico Moderno (The Modern Classic) also referred by some as the Clasico Moderno Hondureño is a Honduran football match played at least 4 times a year in the Honduran Liga Nacional and consists of two teams, Olimpia and Real España. The Clásico Moderno is the most fierce derby played in Honduras. The two "Barras" (MegaBarra and Commando 12 from España and Ultra Fiel from Olimpia) confront themselves with deadly results almost every time they meet. Honduran Superclásico
The Clasico Capitalino (Capital's Derby), also known as the local derby played between F.C. Motagua and C.D. Olimpia. These two teams lead the Honduran Football League as most frequent holders of the championship trophy, and their rivalry is the biggest one in the country. Olimpia wears the white uniform, with blue and red highlights. Their mascot is a lion. Olimpia is the oldest team in the league and holds the largest number of championship titles.
