2003–04 CERS Cup
The 2003–04 CERS Cup was the 24th season of the CERS Cup, Europe's second club roller hockey (quad), roller hockey competition organized by CERH. 19 teams from five national associations qualified for the competition as a result of their respective national league placing in the previous season. Following a preliminary phase and four knockout rounds, Reus Deportiu won its second consecutive title. Reus Deportiu
Reus Deportiu is a Catalan sports club best known for its professional roller hockey team based in Reus, Catalonia, Spain. History CD Reus was founded on 23 November 1909 after the dissolution of Reus Sport Club. On 29 September 1917, the club merged with Club Velocipedista and SC Olímpia becoming the multi-sports club Reus Deportiu. In 1951, Reus Deportiu was restructured into two independent entities: CF Reus Deportiu, entirely dedicated to football, and Reus Deportiu, for the rest of the sections. Apart from the roller hockey team, which plays in the OK Liga, it also has athletics, basketball, chess, rhythmic gymnastics, hiking, karate, artistic roller skating, rugby, table tennis and tennis sections. Reus enjoyed its golden era between 1967 and 1973, winning six European Cups in a row, four Spanish Leagues and four national Cups. The WSE Cup is an annual European club roller hockey competition organised by the World Skate Europe - Rink Hockey since 1980. It is the second most important club competition and features teams who did not qualify for the top-tier WSE Champions League. The 2003–04 CERH European League was the 39th edition of the CERH European League organized by CERH. Its Final Four was held on 15 and 16 May 2004 at PalaBarsacchi, in Viareggio, Italy. Preliminary round First round The four eliminated teams with best ranking joined the CERS Cup. Group stage In each group, teams played against each other home-and-away in a Round-robin tournament, home-and-away round-robin format. The two first qualified teams advanced to the Final Four. Follonica Hockey or Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Follonica Hockey is a roller hockey team from Follonica, Italy. It was established in 1952. History Merged in 1962 with another team belonging to the same town, Follonica Hockey made their debut in the Serie A italian championship in 1962. After alternating during several seasons the first and second tiers, in the 1970s the club consolidates in the top league and wins their first national cup in 1977 and five years later the second one. In 2005, Follonica wins their first continental title by winning the 2004–05 CERS Cup and weeks later, they would achieve the first of their four consecutive Italian leagues. There are many types of hockey, and the individual sports vary in rules, numbers of players, apparel, and playing surface.
