2002–03 Elitserien (men's Handball)
The 2002–03 Elitserien was the 69th season of the top division of Swedish handball. 12 teams competed in the league. The league was split into an autumn league and a spring league. The eight highest placed teams in the autumn league qualified for the spring league, whereas the four lowest placed teams qualified for Allsvenskan along with the highest placed teams from the autumn season of Division I (the second level). The six highest placed teams in the spring season of Elitserien qualified for the quarterfinals, whereas the two lowest placed teams qualified for the preliminary round of the playoffs, along with the two highest placed teams of Allsvenskan. Redbergslids IK won the regular season and also won the playoffs to claim their 20th List of Swedish men's handball champions, Swedish title. Handbollsligan ''(literally, "The Handball league")'' is the highest league in the league system of Swedish handball, and comprises the top 14 Swedish handball teams. The first season began in 1931–32. The season ends with a playoff. Structure The season starts in September with a regular season comprising 14 teams meeting each other twice. A total of 26 rounds. The eight best teams after the regular season qualifies for the play-off. The 14th team is relegated, and the 11th, 12th and 13th team plays matches against the second, third and fourth from Allsvenskan to qualify for next season's Handbollsligan. The season ends with the finals in the beginning of May and the winning team qualifies directly to EHF European League and the losing team qualifies for the EHF European Cup. H 43 Lund
H43 Lund is a handball team from Sweden. The club played in the Elitserien but after bankruptcy in 2014 they no longer exist. The youth club under the same name is a new club founded in 2015 under same short name (but not same full name) The club was founded in 1943 in a school class in Lund. Their teacher Y. Wallmer helped the boys found the club at a local café. 13 years later the club was playing in Sweden's highest division. H43 Lund played in "allsvenskan" for 14 years 1956-1970 before they were relegated to the second division. After nine years they were back in the top division but now only for seven years. In 2000 H43 Lund was back in "Elitserien" and stayed there for 12 years. During 2012/13 H43 played one year in division 2 but then came back. Economic bankruptcy in 2014 ended the history of the club. Djurgårdens IF Handboll
Djurgårdens IF Handbollsförening (commonly known as Djurgården or informally Djurgår'n ; abbreviated DIF () is the handball section of Djurgårdens IF. History Djurgårdens IF started its handball section in the 1934–35 season. In the 1938, they were in List of Swedish men's handball champions, Swedish championship final against Västerås IK Handboll, Västerås IK. The team played in top-tier Elitserien (men's handball), Allsvenskan between 1939 and 1941. The team folded once and restarted in 1990. In 2002, Djurgården merged with Elitserien (men's handball), Elitserien team BK Söder and the new team competed in Elitserien as Djurgårdens IF. Eskilstuna Guif IF, commonly known as Eskilstuna Guif or Guif, is a handball club based in Eskilstuna, Sweden. It has reached the List of Swedish men's handball champions, national championship finals on four occasions but never won and currently competes in Handbollsligan, the top domestic handball league. History The club was founded on 26 May 1896 as ''Godtemplarnas Ungdoms- och Idrottsförening'' (). GUIF was one of the first sports clubs in Eskilstuna after Eskilstuna GAK.
