The 2002–03 EHF Champions League was the 43rd edition of Europe's premier club Team handball, handball tournament. SC Magdeburg were the reigning champions. Montpellier HB won the title beating Portland San Antonio in the final. This was the first time ever a French team won the tournament. EHF Champions League
The EHF Champions League is the most important club handball competition for men's teams in Europe and involves the leading teams from the top European nations. The competition is organised every year by EHF. The official name for the men's competition is the EHF Champions League Men. The EHF coefficient rank decides which teams have access and in which stage they enter. Eligibility and qualifying Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 9 nations are automatically permitted to participate in the tournament with their national champion. The national federation ranked first place in the EHF European League, currently Germany, is awarded a second qualification berth for the domestic runner-up. The remaining six positions are designated through wildcards, with each national federation without two teams already qualified able to submit a single applicant. RK Vardar 1961 () is a professional handball club from Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. Vardar is the most successful handball team in the country, having won 15-fifteen national League titles and 17-seventeen League Cup titles. Vardar is also the most successful team in the regional SEHA League, having won five titles and two EHF Champions League titles. KIF Kolding is a professional handball club based in Kolding, Denmark who competes in the Danish Handball League. KIF Kolding has won the Danish Handball League, Danish Handball Championship a record 14 times. It is a part of the broader sports association Kolding Idræts Forening. Handball Club Donbas Donetsk Oblast (Ukrainian: ГК Донбас) (previous name Shakhtar-Academiia until June 2017) is a handball club from Donetsk. HK Drott Halmstad is a handball club, based in Halmstad, Sweden. The club has won the Swedish Championship eleven times, last in 2013. RK Partizan Belgrade
RK Partizan () is a Serbian handball club based in Belgrade. They compete in the Serbian Handball Super League and EHF European League. History The original club was founded in 1948. They competed for only a year until 1949. In January 1957, RK Dedinje became part of the Partizan sports society, thus reinstating the club's handball section. They made their Yugoslav Handball Championship debut in 1960. In 1973, the club suffered relegation from the league.
