Regular Season
In an organized sports league, a typical season is the portion of one year in which regulated games of the sport are in session: for example, in Major League Baseball the season lasts approximately from the last week of March to the last week of September. In other team sports, like association football or basketball, it is generally from August or September to May although in some countries – such as Northern Europe, North America or East Asia – the season for oudoor summer sports starts in the spring and finishes in autumn, mainly due to weather conditions encountered during the winter. Martin Plüss
Martin Plüss (born 5 April 1977) is a retired Swiss professional ice hockey centre. He participated in four Winter Olympics and twelve World Championships. Playing career A product of EV Dielsdorf-Niederhasli, Plüss made his debut for EHC Kloten in the Swiss top-flight NLA in 1994. He won the Swiss championship with Kloten in 1995 and 1996. In the 2000–2001 season, he received All-NLA Most Valuable Player honours. In 2004, he left Kloten to join Frölunda HC in the Swedish Elite League and helped the team capture the title in his first year. After signing a one-year deal with Frölunda in 2004, he signed another one-year deal to stay with the team for the 2005–06 season. Despite offers from other teams, Plüss signed yet another one-year contract with Frölunda in 2006. Peter Jaks (4 May 1966 – 5 October 2011) was a Swiss ice hockey player. He competed at the 1988 and 1992 Winter Olympics. Kevin Miller (ice Hockey)
Kevin Bradley Miller (born September 2, 1965) is an American former professional ice hockey player. Early life Miller was born in Lansing, Michigan. As a youth, he played in the 1978 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Detroit Little Caesars minor ice hockey team. Career A two-way forward, Miller was drafted by the New York Rangers in 1984. He would also go on to play with the Detroit Red Wings, Washington Capitals, St. Louis Blues, San Jose Sharks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Islanders and Ottawa Senators. After playing for the Senators during the 1999–2000 NHL season, Miller spent several years in Switzerland before returning to play in North America and would play several games for the Red Wings in 2003–04. Petteri Nummelin
Timo Petteri Nummelin (born November 25, 1972) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League for the Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets. He was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets as their fifth-round pick, #133 overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Internationally, he played for the Finland men's national ice hockey team, and was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2024. Nummelin is the son of Timo Nummelin, a Finnish ice hockey hall of famer. Josef Marha
Josef Marha (born 2 June 1976) is a Czech former professional ice hockey player. Playing career Marha played in the National Hockey League for the Colorado Avalanche, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and the Chicago Blackhawks, playing 159 regular season games with 21 goals and 32 assists for 53 points, picking up 32 penalty minutes. On the Chicago Blackhawks, he was commonly referred to at the 'Captain of the 4th Line'. He was drafted 35th overall by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Marha left the NHL to join HC Davos of the Swiss National League A (NLA) in 2001. Michel Riesen
Michel Riesen (born April 11, 1979) is a Swiss former professional ice hockey winger. Most of his career, which lasted from 1994 to 2014, was spent in the Swiss Nationalliga A, though he also played 12 games in the National Hockey League with the Edmonton Oilers during the 2000–01 season. Internationally Riesen played for the Swiss national team in several junior tournaments and three World Championships. After retiring he turned to coaching and has worked at the junior level in Switzerland since 2015. Adrian Wichser (born March 18, 1980) is a retired Swiss ice hockey winger, who played for different clubs in the Swiss National League A (NLA), including EHC Kloten, HC Lugano, ZSC Lions and Rapperswil-Jona Lakers. Lonny Bohonos
Lonny W. Bohonos (born May 20, 1973) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger. He played most notably for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League and also appeared in several games for the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the later stages of his career, he played overseas in the Swiss Nationalliga A and Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Derek Armstrong (born April 23, 1973) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. Armstrong played in the National Hockey League, where he played for the New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings and the St. Louis Blues. Playing career Derek Armstrong spent the majority of his NHL career with the Los Angeles Kings. Mike Maneluk (born October 1, 1973) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger. Playing career Maneluk played three seasons for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League and one for the Canadian National Team before becoming a professional. He averaged nearly a point per game in the American Hockey League with the Baltimore Bandits, Worcester IceCats, and Philadelphia Phantoms over the course of his career. Maneluk won the Jack A.
