Karnataka State Film Awards
Karnataka State Film Awards are the most notable and prestigious film awards given for Kannada film industry in Karnataka, India. These are considered the highest awards for Kannada language films. They are given annually by the Government of Karnataka to honor the best talent and to provide encouragement and incentive to the Kannada film industry. The awards are decided by a committee, headed by a panel of judges. The jury usually consists of eminent personalities from the film field. The awards intend to promote films with artistic values and to encourage artists, technicians and producers. The awards are declared by the Minister for Cultural Affairs and are presented by the Chief Minister of Karnataka. On 14 November 2016,Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah declared that the State Government will present the Karnataka State Film Awards on 24 April, the birthday of thespian Dr. Rajkumar, every year henceforth. Parva (2002 Film)
''Parva'' is a 2002 Indian Kannada-language musical film, musical drama film directed and written by Sunil Kumar Desai and produced by H. C. Srinivas. The film stars Vishnuvardhan (actor), Vishnuvardhan along with Prema (actress, born 1977), Prema and Roja Selvamani, Roja in prominent roles. The music was written, scored and produced by Hamsalekha. The film released on 18 January 2002 to generally positive reviews from critics. Plot This is one of the rare movies in Kannada cinema history. The movie starts with a song and also ends with a song and dance. This is probably the first time in Kannada cinema where the director uses a song to complete the climax for the movie. Sagar (Vishnuvardhan) is a good singer and dancer. He starts searching for Suma (Prema) in a huge crowd. When the crowd starts wondering why is he looking for her commences the first flashback, which is one among the seven or so flashbacks in the movie.
