The 2000–01 season was the 121st season of competitive football by Rangers. Overview Rangers played a total of 56 competitive matches during the 2000–01 season. Rangers went into the season looking to clinch a third consecutive Scottish Premier League title, as well as trying to successfully defend the Scottish Cup, win the League Cup and make an impact in the UEFA Champions League. Despite further heavy investment in the team, which included paying a £12 million fee for striker Tore Andre Flo in November, Rangers were unable to win the title and finished the season without winning any trophies. Bert Konterman
Bert Konterman (, born 14 January 1971) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a defender. Playing career Born in Rouveen, Konterman's career began with the local amateur club ''SC Rouveen'', then went on to play for clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie including FC Zwolle, Cambuur and Willem II. Barry Ferguson (born 2 February 1978) is a Scottish football coach, former player and pundit who was most recently caretaker manager of Scottish Premiership club Rangers. Lorenzo Amoruso
Lorenzo Amoruso (born 28 June 1971) is an Italian sports commentator and former professional footballer who played as a defender for seven teams in Italy, Scotland, England, and San Marino during his footballing career, but is perhaps best known for his six-year spell with Glasgow side Rangers. In that six-year spell, he won nine major honours with the club including domestic trebles in the 1998–99 and 2002–03 seasons, representing the side on more than 150 occasions in competitive football.
