2000–01 FC Basel Season
The 2000–01 Fussball Club Basel 1893 season was their 107th season since the club's foundation on 15 November 1893. Following their promotion in the 1993–94 season this was their seventh consecutive season in the highest tier of Swiss football. René C. Jäggi was the club's chairman for the fifth year. FC Basel played their home games in the alternate Stadion Schützenmatte while the new stadium was being built and as of 15 March 2001 in the brand new St. Jakob-Park. Yverdon-Sport FC is a Swiss football club based in Yverdon-les-Bains that is set to compete in the Challenge League, the second tier of Swiss football, after being relegated from the top-tier Swiss Super League in the 2024–25 season. Pascal Zuberbühler
Pascal Zuberbühler (born 8 January 1971) is a Swiss former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He played in the Swiss Super League for Grasshoppers, Basel and Neuchâtel Xamax. He also had a season on loan to Bayer Leverkusen of the Bundesliga, and late in his career he represented West Bromwich Albion and Fulham in England. Zuberbühler earned 51 caps for Switzerland between 1994 and 2008, and was selected for UEFA Euro 2004, the 2006 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2008. Thomas Häberli (born 11 April 1974) is a Swiss football manager and former player. He is the current head coach of Swiss Super League side Servette FC. Club career Häberli was born in Lucerne, Switzerland. He played as midfielder or striker. Häberli started his youth football with the local amateur club FC Eschenbach, based in Eschenbach next to his hometown of Ballwil in Central Switzerland. Didier Tholot (born 2 April 1964) is a French former professional footballer who turned to management in 2002, and is currently the manager of Sion in the Swiss Super League. Whilst at Bordeaux, he played in the 1996 UEFA Cup Final. Playing career Tholot was born in Feurs, Loire, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. After completing his training at INF Vichy in 1984, Tholot signed his first professional contract with Toulon in the first division where he learned the ropes during three years. He was then transferred to Niort where he played for two seasons. In 1990, he was recruited by Reims. Neuchâtel Xamax Football Club Serrières or Neuchâtel Xamax FCS () is a Swiss football club based in Neuchâtel. It was created in 1970 through a merger between FC Cantonal, founded in 1906 and Swiss champions of 1916, and FC Xamax founded in 1912. Luís Calapes
Luis Manuel Duarte Calapes (born 3 June 1978) is a Portuguese former footballer who played as defender in the 1990s and 2000s. Calapes played his youth football with FC Basel and from their reserve team, he advanced to the first team for their 1997–98 season. After playing in three test games Calapes played his domestic league debut for the club in the away game on 29 March 1998 as Basel played a goalless drew with Lugano. In the following season Calapes became more playing time under head-coach Guy Mathez. But things changed under new coach Christian Gross, in their 1999–2000 season Calapes played only seven league games.
