The 2000 Vuelta a Castilla y León was the 15th edition of the Vuelta a Castilla y León cycle race and was held on 31 July to 4 August 2000. The race started in Valladolid and finished in Bembibre. Francisco Mancebo
Francisco Mancebo Pérez (born 9 March 1976) is a Spanish professional cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team . He initially rode for team , but moved to in 2006. Mancebo is a stage race specialist, with good climbing and individual time trial performances. He was the winner of the Spanish National Road Race Championships in 2004, and finished third in the Vuelta a España. He finished sixth in the 2004 Tour de France and fourth in the 2005 Tour de France. He also won a stage of the 2005 Vuelta a España and finished fourth in the general classification. Career Born in Madrid, Mancebo won the young rider classification at the 2000 Tour de France. Mancebo was himself implicated in the Operación Puerto doping case and was pulled from that year's Tour de France on the eve of the race. Georg Totschnig
Georg Totschnig (born 25 May 1971) is an Austrian former road bicycle racer who raced professionally between 1993 and 2006. He won the Austrian National Road Race Championships in 1997 and 2003. He also rode at three Olympic Games. Career In 1989, Totschnig became the Junior Austrian National Time Trial Champion. He turned professional with the Italian Lampre – Polti team in 1993, remaining with the team in 1994 when Polti became the main sponsor for the first time. He finished 5th in the 1994 edition of the Tour DuPont and a few weeks later entered his first Grand Tour, which was the 1994 Giro where he finished 13th overall helped by a top 10 on the final ITT. Carlos Sastre
Carlos Sastre Candil (; born 22 April 1975) is a former Spanish professional road bicycle racer and winner of the 2008 Tour de France. He consistently achieved outstanding results in the Vuelta a España and in the Tour de France. Sastre established himself as a strong and stable climbing specialist, and after working to improve his individual time trial skills, he became a contender for the top GC spots in the Grand Tours. In total, Sastre finished in the top ten of fifteen Grand Tours during his career, and finished on the podium of each of them. Sastre never tested positive for drugs, nor was he implicated in any doping investigation, even though he performed at the top level of cycling. Palmans (cycling Team)
Palmans was a Belgian professional road and cyclo-cross cycling team that existed from 1993 until 2010. The team underwent many different name changes throughout its existence, but was always sponsored by Palmans, an international road transport company. In 2000, the team merged with Collstrop, another Belgian team. The team disbanded for two years in 2004. Part of the staff and Palmans, the main sponsor, helped form a new Belgian team, .
