The 1992 NatWest Trophy was the 12th NatWest Trophy. It was an English limited overs county cricket tournament which was held between 24 June and 5 September 1992. The tournament was won by Northamptonshire County Cricket Club who defeated Leicestershire County Cricket Club by 8 wickets in the final at Lord's. The Test and County Cricket Board (TCCB) was the governing body for Test and county cricket in Great Britain between 1968 and 1996. The TCCB was established in 1968 to replace the functions of the Board of Control for Test Matches (established in 1898) and the Advisory County Cricket Committee (1904) which had been set up by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) to administer Test cricket in England and the County Championship respectively. Gary Raymond Black (born 11 May 1954) is a former English cricketer. Black was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium. He was born in Hammersmith, London. Black made his debut for Buckinghamshire in the 1984 Minor Counties Championship against Berkshire. Black played Minor counties cricket for Buckinghamshire from 1984 to 1993, which included 67 Minor Counties Championship matches and 12 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. In 1985, he made his List A debut against Somerset in the NatWest Trophy. He played 7 further List A matches for Buckinghamshire, the last coming against Leicestershire in the 1993 NatWest Trophy. In his 8 List A matches, he took 10 wickets at a bowling average of 32.80, with best figures of 3/83. He also played Second XI cricket for the Northamptonshire Second XI in 1977. Alan Wells
Alan Peter Wells (born 2 October 1961) is an English cricketer. He played for Sussex from 1981 to 1996, where he was captain from 1992 to 1996. He then played for Kent from 1997 to 2000. In total he played 376 first-class matches in a career spanning twenty seasons, with a batting average of 38.57 and a top score of 253 not out (against Yorkshire at Middlesbrough in 1991). He only played twice for England, once in a Test match (where he was dismissed for a golden duck by the West Indian fast bowler Curtly Ambrose), and once in a One Day International. In 1989–90, Wells joined the rebel tour of South Africa as a replacement when Roland Butcher pulled out. Domestic career Wells played most of his career with Sussex, helping them to win the John Player League in 1982 and the 1986 NatWest Trophy.
