The 1987 Queen's Birthday Honours in New Zealand, celebrating the official birthday of Elizabeth II, were appointments made by the Queen in her right as Monarchy of New Zealand, Queen of New Zealand, on the advice of the New Zealand government, to Orders and decorations of the Commonwealth realms, various orders and honours to reward and highlight good works by New Zealanders. Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; 21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from 6 February 1952 until her death in 2022. She was queen regnant of 32 sovereign states during her lifetime, and was head of state of 15 realms at the time of her death.
