1st Tank Brigade (Ukraine)
The 1st Tank Brigade " Severia" () is a brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces formed in 1997. History The Brigade is a unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that was formed in 1997 from the 292nd Tank Regiment. In 2014, the brigade was deployed to the border with Russia in the Sumy region to protect the route to Kyiv. One battalion was also sent to support mechanized brigades in the Luhansk region, mainly around the Luhansk Airport. In 2015, the brigade supported the 30th Mechanized Brigade in Debaltseve, where they destroyed at least three enemy tanks. At the onset of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the brigade dispersed in anticipation of the imminent bombardment. Following the bombardment, the unit returned to Chernihiv to respond to Russian vanguard forces. Russian forces attempted to take the city but were repelled. Operational Command North
Operational Command North is a command of the Ukrainian Ground Forces in northern Ukraine. It was formed in 2013 from the Western Operational Command and Territorial Directorate North by reforming the 13th Army Corps. The operation command traces its history back to Territorial Directorate "North", which was created on the basis of Northern Territorial Operational Command by Directive No.322/1/010 of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine on 20 May 2005. The previous Northern Operational Command was created in 1996 and based on the 1st Army Corps that continued the traditions of the 1st Guard Red-Banner Army. It encompassed six oblasts: Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy. The command consisted of units and military formations of the 8th Army Corps. Kramatorsk ( uk, Краматорськ, translit=Kramatorsk ) is a city and the administrative centre of Kramatorsk Raion in the northern portion of Donetsk Oblast, in eastern Ukraine. The Battle of Donbas is an ongoing military offensive that is part of the wider eastern Ukraine campaign of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.
