1999–2000 Second League Of FR Yugoslavia
The 1999–2000 Second League of FR Yugoslavia season () consisted of three groups of 18 teams. Originally 14 teams from 7 groups of Third Division would be promoted, but in the end only 13 teams remained (only one of which was from the Timok Group). It was not necessary to relegate one team from Second League East, as Crvena Zvezda Gnjilane had already withdrawn. The Second League of Serbia and Montenegro was the second tier of the football league system in Serbia and Montenegro, one level below the First League of Serbia and Montenegro. FK Teleoptik () is a football club based in Zemun, Belgrade, Serbia. They compete in the Serbian League Belgrade, the third tier of the national league system. History The club was founded by the manufacturing company of the same name in 1952. They played in the local leagues of Belgrade within the Yugoslav football league system, but without notable achievements. In the early 1990s, when the country started breaking apart, the club agreed to an affiliate partnership with FK Partizan. OFK Niš () is a football club based in Niš, Serbia. They compete in the Zone League Centre, the fourth tier of the national league system. FK Jedinstvo Paraćin () is a football club based in Paraćin, Serbia. They compete in the Serbian League East, the third tier of the national league system. History The club qualified for the Yugoslav Cup in the 1984–85 season. They defeated Sloboda Tuzla on penalties in the opening round, before losing 5–0 away to Hajduk Split in the next phase. FK Budućnost Valjevo
FK Budućnost Valjevo () is a defunct football club based in Valjevo, Serbia. History The original club was founded as SK Sloga in 1920. They were, however, banned by the authorities after just a year. In 1925, the club continued its activities as RSK Valjevo and was led by some founding members of the previous club. Their first recorded game occurred in 1926. In 1929, the club changed its name to FK Budućnost. They became members of the Belgrade Football Subassociation in 1930. FK Železničar Lajkovac (Serbian Cyrillic: ФК Железничар Лајковац) is a football club based in Lajkovac, Serbia. History The club was formed in 1927 by the initiative of a group of important citizens of Lajkovac and was initially named as Sport Klub Železničar (SK Železničar). The Serbian League () is the third level football league in Serbia. It consists of four groups, namely Belgrade, East, Vojvodina, and West. The 2000–01 First League of FR Yugoslavia was the ninth season of the FR Yugoslavia's top-level football league since its establishment. It was contested by 18 teams, and Red Star Belgrade won the championship. Incidents Eternal derby abandoned The 115th edition of the Eternal derby match between Red Star Belgrade and FK Partizan on Saturday, 14 October 2000 at the Marakana was abandoned after three minutes of play due to fan rioting. The incident began with Partizan fans, Grobari, pelting the pitch with flares at which point the match play got interrupted. The rioting kept escalating with the southern stand seating being torn off by the Grobari and thrown onto the athletic track. At one point, the team captain Saša Ilić was seen in front of the stand pleading to no avail with the Partizan ultra supporters to stop rioting. OFK Kikinda () is a football club based in Kikinda, Vojvodina, Serbia. They compete in the Serbian League Vojvodina, the third tier of the national league system. FK Kabel () is a football club based in Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia. They compete in the Serbian League Vojvodina, the third tier of the national league system. History The club was founded by workers of a local cable factory in 1932. They competed in the local leagues of Novi Sad over the next few years. In 1945, following the end of World War II, the club was refounded by the factory's workers and given its original name.
