1999–2000 Sacramento Kings Season
The 1999–2000 NBA season was the Kings' 51st season in the National Basketball Association, and 15th season in Sacramento. During the off-season, the Kings acquired Nick Anderson from the Orlando Magic, and signed free agents Tony Delk, Darrick Martin, and re-signed Tyrone Corbin. For the season opener, the Kings traveled to Tokyo, Japan to play their first two games against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Coming off a winning record in a strike-shortened season was much expected of the Kings, who got off to a fast start winning nine of their first ten games, which included an 8-game winning streak. The team held a 30–18 record at the All-Star break. However, they played below .500 for the remainder of the season losing seven of their final eight games, finishing fifth in the Pacific Division with a 44–38 record. 1999–2000 Indiana Pacers Season
The 1999–2000 NBA season was the Pacers' 24th season in the National Basketball Association, and 33rd season as a franchise. It was also their first season playing at the Conseco Fieldhouse. During the off-season, the Pacers acquired top draft pick and high school star Jonathan Bender from the Toronto Raptors, and acquired rookie center Jeff Foster from the Golden State Warriors. The Pacers played around .500 with a 7–7 start to the season, but then won 15 of their next 17 games, and held a 32–16 record at the All-Star break. 2000 NBA Finals
The 2000 NBA Finals was the championship round of the National Basketball Association (NBA)'s 1999–2000 season, and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. The Western Conference champion Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers 4 games to 2. This was the Lakers' first championship in twelve years. Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the series, in arguably one of the best Finals performances in history putting up 38 PPG, 16 rebounds and 2 blocks, his first of three consecutive honors. The 2000 NBA playoffs was the postseason tournament of the National Basketball Association's 1999–2000 season. The tournament concluded with the Western Conference champion Los Angeles Lakers defeating the Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers four games to two. Shaquille O'Neal was named NBA Finals MVP. Jon Alan Barry (born July 25, 1969) is an American former basketball player and current television analyst for ABC and ESPN. Biography Barry is the son of Hall of Famer Rick Barry and Pam Connolly, and has three brothers: Scooter, Brent, and Drew, all of whom are also basketball players. Jason Chandler Williams (born November 18, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player who was a point guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for twelve seasons during the late 1990s and 2000s.
