The 1999/00 FIS Ski Flying World Cup was the 10th official World Cup season in ski flying awarded with small crystal globe as the subdiscipline of FIS Ski Jumping World Cup. Sven Hannawald
Sven Hannawald (; born 9 November 1974) is a German former ski jumper. Having competed from 1992 to 2004, his career highlight was winning the 2002 Four Hills Tournament, on that occasion becoming the first athlete to win all four events of said tournament. He also finished runner-up twice in the World Cup season, winning four medals at the Ski Jumping World Championships, as well as three medals each at the Winter Olympics and Ski Flying World Championships. Early life Hannawald was born in Erlabrunn and grew up in the nearby town of Johanngeorgenstadt by SC Dynamo Johanngeorgenstadt in the Ore Mountains. At age twelve, he was sent to a special school for young athletes in Klingenthal (SG Dynamo Klingenthal), also in Saxony. Martin Schmitt
Martin Schmitt (; born 29 January 1978) is a German former ski jumper who competed from 1997 to 2014. He is one of Germany's most successful ski jumpers, having won the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, World Cup twice; a gold medal at the Winter Olympics; four gold medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, World Championships; and a list of the longest ski jumps#Men, ski flying world record. Roberto Cecon (born 28 December 1971) is an Italian former ski jumper. Career He won two bronze medals at the FIS Ski Flying World Championships earning them in 1992 and 1994. Cecon also competed in four Winter Olympics, earning his best finish 16th in the individual large hill event at Lillehammer in 1994. Nicolas Dessum
Nicolas Dessum (born 20 February 1977) is a French former ski jumper. Career His best finishes at the Winter Olympics occurred at Lillehammer in 1994 with a sixth in the team large hill and a 14th in the individual normal hill events. Dessum's best individual at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships was fifth in the large hill at Trondheim in 1997. Lasse Ottesen
Lasse Ottesen (born 8 April 1974) is a Norwegian former ski jumper who competed from 1991 to 2002. Career He grew up in the little hamlet of Aurskog in eastern Norway and represented the local sports club Aurskog-Finstadbru SK. His biggest success at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer where he earned a silver medal in the Individual Normal Hill. Martin Höllwarth (born 13 April 1974) is an Austrian former ski jumper. Career At the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, he won three silver medals. Noriaki Kasai
is a Japanese ski jumper. His career achievements include a gold medal at the 1992 Ski Flying World Championships, winning the 1999 Nordic Tournament, individual silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics, and two individual bronze medals at the 2003 Ski Jumping World Championships. During his career, Kasai has broken numerous ski jumping records. Kazuyoshi Funaki
(born 27 April 1975) is a Japanese former ski jumper. He ranked among the most successful sportsmen of its discipline, particularly in the 1990s. Funaki is known for his special variant of the V-style, in which the body lies flatter between the skis than usual. Career Funaki began ski jumping at the age of eleven. His birthplace Yoichi is also the home of Yukio Kasaya, who was a Japanese national hero with his Normal Hill victory in the 1972 Winter Olympics at Sapporo. Kasaya was also Funaki's role model. Takanobu Okabe
(born 26 October 1970) is a Japanese former ski jumper. Career His debut World Cup performance was on 16 December 1989 in Sapporo. Competing in three Winter Olympics, he won two medals in the team large hill event at the Winter Olympics with a silver in 1994 and a gold in 1998. Okabe had his biggest successes at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, winning five medals. This included a gold in the individual normal hill (1995), a silver in the team large hill (1997), and three bronzes in the team large hill (1995, 2007, 2009). Okabe has five individual World Cup victories, three of which came on flying hills.
