1999–2000 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup Series
The 1999–2000 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series was a series of stages where events in men's and women's artistic gymnastics were contested. The series was a two-year long competition culminating at a final event, the World Cup Final in 2000. A number of qualifier stages were held. The top 3 gymnast in each apparatus at the qualifier events would receive medals and prize money. Gymnasts who finished in the top 8 would also receive points that would be added up to a ranking which would qualify individual gymnasts for the biennial World Cup Final. Artistic Gymnastics World Cup
The Artistic Gymnastics World Cup is a competition series for artistic gymnastics sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). It is one of the few tournaments in artistic gymnastics officially organized by FIG, as well as the World Championships and the gymnastics competitions at the Olympic Games and the Youth Olympics. Beginning in the 2017-2020 quadrennium, the All-Around and Individual Apparatus World Cup series are used to qualify a maximum of seven spots to the Olympic Games. Marius Daniel Urzică (born 30 September 1975 in Toplița, Romania) is a Romanian gymnast. Urzică is an Olympic champion, a three-time world champion and a three-time European champion on pommel horse. Alexei Nemov
Alexei Yuryevich Nemov (; born 28 May 1976) is a Russian retired artistic gymnast. During his career, he won five world championships, three European championships and twelve Olympic medals. Early life Born in Barashevo, Mordovia, Alexei Nemov grew up in Tolyatti on the Volga River. His father left him and his mother when Nemov was just a baby, and Nemov has never seen him since. Alexei started gymnastics at age five. Gymnastics career Nemov made his debut at the 1993 World Championships at the age of sixteen, placing fifth in the floor event. Alexander Beresch
Oleksandr Beresch (; 12 October 1977, Pervomaisk – 29 February 2004, Kyiv) was a gymnast from Ukraine and Olympic medallist at the 2000 Sydney Games. Coached by former Soviet World Champion Igor Korobchinsky, Beresch began competing internationally for Ukraine in 1997, winning a bronze medal on the high bar at his first World Championships. Over the next several years he became the preeminent male gymnast on the Ukrainian team, medalling at the World Cup several times. Beresch's breakout year was 2000; in this year he was the European all-around and high bar champion, as well as the bronze all-around medalist at the 2000 Olympics. Huang Xu (; born February 4, 1979) is a Chinese artistic gymnast. He specializes on the pommel horse and the parallel bars and is also strong on still rings. Background Huang began gymnastics training when he was five and was a member of the Jiangsu provincial team in 1989. At the age of 14, he was selected into the national team. Yeo Hong-chul
Yeo Hong-Chul (; born 28 May 1971 in Gwangju) is a retired South Korean gymnast. He participated in three Olympics, winning a silver medal, and retired after the 2000 Summer Olympics. Career Yeo won the silver medal in the vault event at the 1996 Summer Olympics. He also participated in 1992 Summer Olympics, 1994 Asian Games, 1998 Asian Games and 2000 Summer Olympics. After the 2000 Summer Olympics, he announced his retirement. He has two vault skills named after him. His daughter would later conceive her own eponymous FIG-recognized vault skill by combining the "Yeo I" and "Yeo II". Leszek Robert Blanik (born 1 March 1977 in Wodzisław Śląski) is a Polish gymnast, World and Olympic champion in vault.
