''Débora'' is an experimental novella by Ecuadorian writer Pablo Palacio, published in Quito in October 1927. In 2007, the novella was included in a compilation of the author's complete works by publishing house Libresa. The plot of the book follows ''Teniente''—a character who's only referred to by that name and who is never fully defined— during a walk through the streets of Quito in search of a love conquest or any event of importance, which ultimately never comes. The novella is made up of a series of passages that depict several everyday events in Teniente's walk. These passages are constantly interrupted by the ramblings of the narrator, his comments on the protagonist, and the tedium caused by the very construction of the plot. The passages in the story are not presented in a linear succession of events, but rather form a series of subjective images from the narrator's perspective. Niusha Mancilla
Niusha Carmen Mancilla Heredia (born 19 January 1971 in Cochabamba) is a Bolivian former middle distance runner, middle and long-distance runner. She holds the Bolivian records in athletics, Bolivian records from 800 metres up to the 15 km road distance, as well as for the 3000 metres steeplechase. She is a two-time South American silver medallist in the 1500 metres and competed three times at the IAAF World Indoor Championships over that distance. She won middle distance track medals at the Ibero-American Championships in Athletics at the 2000 and 2002 editions. At the 2001 Bolivarian Games she won three gold medals and set two national records. She also represented Bolivia at the 2000 IAAF World Cross Country Championships and the 2003 Pan American Games. Maria Cristina Bernardo Vaqueiro Rodrigues (born 4 June 1971) is a Brazilian former long-distance runner. She won three gold medals at the South American Championships in Athletics, winning a 5000 metres/10,000 metres double in 2001, then retaining her 5000 m title at the 2003 championships. Rodrigues has twice represented Brazil at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships (1999 and 2000) and participated at the 2006 IAAF World Road Running Championships. Érika Alejandra Olivera de la Fuente (born 4 January 1976 in Quinta Normal) is a female marathon runner from Chile and deputy for the Democrats party. She has competed at five Olympic Games, the most Olympic appearances ever by a female marathon runner. Career She took the gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games, setting a Pan American Games record at 2:37.41 hours. She won a bronze at the following edition in 2003. Starting in 1996, she represented her native country in three consecutive Summer Olympics, and also the 2012 Summer Olympics.
